#63C St 456, Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Great place to buy gifts for friends back home. We purchased two sets of earrings made out of denim. There are lots of trinkets and jewelry, but most of it is typical and even bland. It’s also a bit uncomfortable if you’re an atheist as there’s a lot of religiously themed items. But look carefully and you’ll find something. This supports a good cause but we didn’t do any research into the organization to see its effectiveness. We just trusted in good faith. We came for the cafe but apparently that closed during the pandemic.
Wonderful shop, lovely staff, important mission. It made me reflect on the fact that we are more comfortable hiding and ignoring this tragic problem. I went in to buy home decorating or jewelry (and did) and decided to add a bag and very lightweight cotton kitchen towels that shine light on this tragedy to help in a small way to shift shame from the victim to the perpetrators. The towels are perfect for rising dough and very absorbent fabric for hand-drying (so much better than the heavy artificial fibers polluting our planet forever). I bought two sets of the small white ornaments with the twinkle embellishments for the children to tie onto the Christmas tree branches. The grandchildren will grow up knowing that the special ornaments were purchased to help other children. We’ve been to over forty countries and rare is a shop that is memorable as a museum or historical site. This one is.
Cute little gift shop we didn't have long there to explore all the options, I had a manicure and purchased a t-shirt. A little more expensive than the markets but your money goes to supporting this fantastic cause helping to free young girls from the sex trafficking trade and setting them up for a better life.
While googling interesting places to see in Phnom Penh, Daughters came up. I visited yesterday to look for small gift items to take home to Canada. I always like to purchase a small Christmas tree ornament when I visit a new country so was pleasantly surprised to find a very nice selection here. I also purchased some t-shirts for gifts. I went back today for a pedicure which was the best one I’ve had in my 3 months in SE Asia. I highly recommend a visit here to support the very important work this organization does helping women get out of the sex trade. Love this shop!
Lovely gift shop and spa run by a non profit that helps women escape sex trafficking. Had a super pedicure for $6 and a 30 min foot massage for $7. I highly recommend their services.
