During my solo umrah trip, I explored Al Safwa Towers, a shopping paradise right in front of Masjidil Haram. You name it, they sell it, food, souvenirs, books, even watches. The crowd? Massive! I had breakfast here, then attempted shopping. Funny thing is, I am terrible at it, so I just admired everything… and bought nothing!

In Al Safwa Tower market, there is excellent food available, and you can also do some small-scale shopping. However, some shopkeepers are a bit rude and lack basic manners when it comes to communication.

Good and very bad here folks as you leave the clock tower on your right is Alsace’s notably dodgier dirtier and very much cheaper. This is the place you get your head shaved after Umrah but only pay a max of 10 SAR locals pay 8 so tens ok but as you go up the first escalator at the top a young man asks Salon ? Barber ? And directs you to the next floor up they charge a minimum of 20 SAR at this place and the owners proper arrogant avoid at all costs .
In fact anyone who asks you Salon ? Barber ? Just shake your head at the top of first escalator turn right and walk to the back of the floor and you will find dozens of cheap barber shops for 8-10 carnations the second floor it’s a rip off and don’t let anyone escort you to the barber as they demand a kick back which barber will add to your bill !
Lots of good food places THE BEACH at the front fresh and tasty food highly recommended

Please be careful when you order from the food court in Safwa Towers Makkah. When I was about to order food for me and my children there was a homeless boy who asked for meal and I ordered for him as well, the cashier included the boy's meal to mine  and handed me my food and the bill but he didn't hand over the boy's meal to me plus the boy was no where to be found. When I asked about the boy and the food, they said he will come and they will give the meal to the boy,  but I spent there more than one hour at a table having the meal with my children observing if the boy came up, but he didn't. I was fresh from an umrah with my children and it's a disgusting behaviour of them cheating pilgrims in front of Kaa'ba. I said I will write a mail to the ministry about this, then they were taken aback. One even stopped me and wanted to show me something on the phone which took him several minutes, I couldn't wait for long for nothing. It might have happened to me because I was there without my husband. Then after we always went to the food court in clock tower, where there was nothing of that kind of scams. Please be mindful of there kind of scams happening in Safwa Towers and elsewhere.
