“MashaAllah, a wonderful small but very clean and organized prayer place. Went there for Friday prayer. Khutuba starts at 12:30 and prayer on 13:00. Social distance was kept. I could recite Para 1 as I arrived early. A very blessed day.” “Clean n well maintained aircon mosque. The stairs to the praying hall is a little steep. There's a toilet n place for wudu for males n females”
“Great location for getting places in Kyoto, breakfast is a must have here, concierge was kind helpful and patient with my broken Japanese. Would strongly reccomend” “Excellent hotel, good location, clean and modern room, extremely functional with many unexpected amenities. 10 min easy walk to central station. Great value. Top-tier staff, very friendly and professional team. Thank you for our stay!”
“I visited Kyoto Aquarium in September 2024 and had a wonderful experience exploring this family-friendly attraction. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and engaging place to spend a few hours, this aquarium is definitely worth considering. One of the highlights of the visit was the jellyfish exhibit. It’s absolutely stunning and feels like stepping into an underwater dream. The display is mesmerizing, with various species of jellyfish gracefully floating in beautifully illuminated tanks. It’s a must-see and was definitely the most impressive part of the aquarium for me. The aquarium is well-maintained, and the layout makes it easy to navigate. It’s spacious enough to comfortably accommodate visitors, and the atmosphere is peaceful, making it ideal for families with children or anyone seeking a relaxing outing. If you’re interested in seeing the dolphin show, be sure to check the schedule in advance. The show is popular, and timing your visit to catch it can add another layer of enjoyment to your experience. Watching the dolphins perform is both entertaining and educational, especially for kids. Overall, Kyoto Aquarium offers a great mix of exhibits, from marine life displays to interactive activities. While it may not be the largest aquarium in Japan, it certainly delivers in quality and presentation. I’d highly recommend it for families or anyone looking to explore a quieter, more serene side of Kyoto’s attractions.” “Highly recommend this aquarium! It isn’t a huge place, however the species they are showing there are special, like the eel, jelly fish, salamander, etc. You could see the animals up close - I had never been able to observe penguins and seals so close in another zoo / aquarium. The dolphin show was great! Although we just spent 2-3 hours there, it’s definitely the highlight of the day!”
“Just steps from Kyoto Station, the impressive 130-meter Kyoto Tower offers a fantastic panoramic perspective of the city from its observatory, located 100 meters high. From this vantage point, you can enjoy sweeping views of Kyoto's iconic landmarks and the surrounding landscape.” “Nidec essentially means “Japan Electric Manufacturing Corporation” in English. Worth a visit, good value for the 900 yen price tag. Even at night when no clouds it’s interesting to see the whole of Kyoto laid out before you. When I went there was no queue at all and not too busy at the top.”
“I love this mall so very much! Went there 4 times during my visit lol Boutique style mall where you can meet curated brands and items. I personally got some items for myself and friends :)” “Am I mall kinda girl? No. But BAL Kyoto? Yes, a thousand times over. Class, style, space, a sense of place (and peace) and did I mention English books? Time and again they host events too. I’d buy that much too expensive lovely pink velvet sofa one day. So many pretty memories here, itsumo arigato.”
“Great atmosphere! Fast & efficient service. The beef were great especially the sirloin cut that melts in the mouth! ? Waiter also explained how to cook the beef & which sauce went well with different cuts. 10/10 would recommend this place & would come again! the dessert (strawberry milk pudding) was not sour or too sweet.” “Wonderful halal dining experience at Gyumon in Kyoto Gion! The quality of the meat was excellent. We really appreciated the attention to halal standards, and the fact that they provide a prayer room is a huge plus for Muslim travelers. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the traditional setting in Gion added to the charm. Highly recommended for anyone looking for authentic Japanese BBQ with halal options!”
“They struck a perfect balance between stylish flair and cozy functionality. From the outside, the building grabbed attention both day and night. The sleek facade was lit with warm accents in the evening, while its modern, clean look remained inviting during the day. The lobby was a vibrant yet laid-back space, with a playful design and communal seating that encouraged socializing or simply relaxing with a drink. The room was compact but cleverly arranged. The bed was large and plush, and the interior used warm tones and wooden textures that created a sense of calm. Storage options were practical, and there’s a cozy desk setup for work. The bathroom was clean and modern with a stylish black-and-white tile design, and the rain shower was a refreshing touch. The pink-themed amenities were a fun and quirky addition, fitting well with Moxy’s energy?” “Great stay overall! The hotel has an excellent location—super convenient for exploring Kyoto. Everything was very clean, which made the stay feel comfortable and fresh. The room size is surprisingly good for both the price and typical standards in Japan—definitely a nice surprise. The gym is well-equipped and a great bonus for staying active while traveling. Also loved having access to 24/7 washing machines—such a practical and underrated perk. Breakfast could be better with just a few small additions or more variety, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. For the value, cleanliness, location, and amenities, Moxy Kyoto is a solid choice. I’d definitely stay again!”
“Fab hotel!! All the mod cons (right next to the subway, family mart and McDonald’s if you arrived late / exhausted and don’t know where to eat) … with the most gracious staff! Breakfast had options that you order when you arrive (there’s a timesheet to let you know when you’re likely to queue) as well as little bits of bread foods and nice juices. Staff were more than happy to remove an item then double another one in its place. Bedroom products replaced each day (biscuits, tea, coffee, water - if we used any), air-con worked well and staff always happy to help, smiling every time they saw us in reception. Would love to come again!!” “Literally next to the train station and bus stop that can get you anywhere in Kyoto. The rooms were very clean and spacious for japan standards. The bed was comfy and they had google cast TV’s the complimentary drinks of juice and water in the fridge were at hit as well. Would definitely recommend!”
“We stayed at Village Kyoto from April 2 to April 6 with five friends and really enjoyed it. The staff was very kind, especially the lady who welcomed us. We arrived a few hours early and left our bags at the hotel. Later, we found out she already brought them to our rooms. That was really nice! The whole hotel was very clean, including the rooms and the onsen (hot bath). We also liked the free Japanese pajamas, ice cream, and nice-smelling oils. This hotel is great for everyone – whether you travel alone, with friends, or with family. We really recommend it!” “We loved this hotel. Kind and helpful staff. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Free sake and popsicles after 3pm. A nice station to make scented bookmarks that my kids loved. Spa was lovely.”
“My husband and I came here because I heard there were great vegetarian options (I’m vegetarian, my husband isn’t). Little did I know I would have one of my favourite meals in Japan, with the most incredible, friendly, warm service. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious. Drinks were awesome. The server and the chefs were all so kind and wonderful. 100/10 would recommend!” “We came here for our last dinner in Kyoto because we saw they accommodate for gluten free. The meal was very good and the service was even better. The server and chef were very aware and accommodating of my allergy. We got the spring rolls, omurice, teriyaki chicken, pasta (not gf), and creme brulee, which were all tasty. Overall a very warm environment and a great place to eat out in Kyoto.”
“Extremely friendly women who served us. Beautiful ambience and incredibly tasty vegan food. So glad we went here. Each dish had so much flavour and felt each dish was done with so much love. My favourite out of all were the pumpkin croquettes and rice balls but everything was tasty! Had potato salad, fried tofu and the pumpkin pudding with chestnut sauce. Had the ginger tea which complemented the food. The price for the incredible food and great friendly service is so reasonable.” “Romantic and tasty vegan restaurant! We really enjoyed their unique Bibimbap and the excellent ramen. It is hard to describe the unique blend of tastes in each meal, but others have uploaded the descriptions of these meals, so please read them. Although the vanue is far from the center, it is worth the drive, and you won't be disappointed.”
