Eat here twice for breakfast. Good food, there’s oyster egg and carrot cake that I like. The meatball also taste good, it just the soup was little bit bland for me.

Nice vegetarian food place run by a couple of lady bosses. I communicated with them showing my google translate screen, and it went fine. Dry spicy noodle was very good, it tasted even better when it got a bit cold after being served. Oyster omelette is made with mushroom and the boss asked me whether it was okay to put eggs in my omelette. It was very starchy, it was an experience, but I don’t think I’d order it again. I’d def have the dry noodle again if I get a chance though, and I think it can go well as a base for other main dishes! There are mooncakes too, I had salted egg yolk with red bean paste and mungbean ones and didn’t like them. Still rating their food as 5 stars coz… vibes~*

There isnt many places (within walking distance) that opens as early as 7am for breakfast excepts this place (Xin Xin) - which is wonderful as the Aunty in me enjoys a morning walk with minimal cars to get breakfast. This shop is managed by really cute aunties and they sell many fresh pastry bakes (mostly suitable for lacto-ovo veg). Theres burgers and breads on the go too. I personally enjoy their hot savoury foods which they would cook upon order. Just a simple Meatball soup, some sides + dry mee sets us back at approx NT135 (approx S$5.30) and its enough for a hearty meal. Theres a lot of choices but do let them know you want Vegan items. how to find them: google "vegetarian" if you stay in xi men ding area, and filter "open now" after 7am, you will find this shop. or type 鑫鑫, it should pop up. Close on Sat. Food is so good here. Hot foods are all vegan (except the braised egg). There a bunch of foods you can select to fill up a plate. We got the radish cake which they pan fried on the soot. Omg so goood!!! Also got the wonton noodle soup (soup was a little spicy), some veg and the tofu square was delicious! Their dipping sauce though, so good too! Plus we couldn’t help but get the noodles with ma jiang (which i think is like a peanut sesame sauce which they put on top and you mix it in) - really delicious. The biscuits at the front of the shop have egg/milk except for what i thought looked like a flat version of a moon cake which seemingly had red bean filling in it. And the grandmas serving me here are so cute and friendly!! Highly recommend

This is another place I would give 1000 stars if I could. It’s an unassuming little shop with pastries in the window and a gang of lovely aunties running it. Best sesame noodles of my life. Been twice on our trip to Taipei and it’s not enough. There is an English menu but there are no descriptions of the dishes. But a bowl of sesame noodles is $40NT. Already can’t wait to go back.
