The Green Reaper is a truly special private dining experience. The five-course meal is not only delicious but also so thoughtfully crafted, with every dish showing incredible attention to detail. The chef is an artist in every sense—her creativity shines through both in her paintings and in the way she brings flavors together so beautifully. What makes the experience even more memorable is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Her husband is a fantastic host, with a wonderful voice and a real talent for music, which adds such a lovely touch to the evening. The whole space has a unique charm, and the adorable cats make it even more endearing. While there’s no air conditioning, which can make it a little warm, the overall experience more than makes up for it. Between the amazing food, the cozy vibe, and the genuine passion behind it all, The Green Reaper is a hidden gem in Malacca that’s well worth experiencing.
Sure, there are plenty of places to eat in Melaka. But if you are looking for something special, a warm-hearted place serving artfully arranged vegetarian delicacies in a remarkable setting, then let Danni and Chris at Green Reaper take you away. At every moment you can feel the loving dedication with which they create an unforgettable evening for their guests, which is much more than just an exceptionally delicious 5-course vegetarian menu. The ingenious compositions of fresh ingredients are breathtaking, but the magic of the evening lies in the warm and informal atmosphere that Danni and Chris have created for us. We arrived as their guests, but left feeling like friends. Thank you so much!
We had the absolute joy of being hosted by the wonderful Chris and Danni at their beautiful home, and it’s hard to put into words just how special the evening was. I’ve shared a few photos to give you a feel of the warm, inviting atmosphere; but the food? That’s something you’ll just have to experience for yourself. We went with the Mediterranean menu, and every bite was a delightful surprise. Danni worked her magic in the kitchen while Chris kept us engaged with great conversation all evening. Truly a top-notch experience. We’ll definitely be back!
Had a wonderful night indulging in a beautifully crafted 5-course vegetarian dinner by Danni from The Green Reaper Vegetarian Eatery & Botanical Gallery, tucked away along Jalan Bendahara, Melaka. Every dish was a delightful surprise — thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and deeply satisfying. The serene, calming ambiance made the experience even more special. What truly stood out was the heartfelt hospitality from Christian and Danni — their warmth and passion elevated the entire evening. If you haven't met these two or visited this hidden gem, you're seriously missing out.
As a long-term vegetarian, I always get very excited when I find full veggie places and/or many options. During my second stay in Malacca, I found The Green Reaper on the map by chance. The reviews were excellent, so I didn't hesitate. It is true that you have to call/message and book in advance. I tried to find the place first, and I couldn't. (It is just the door to the left of 7eleven. The place exists! Just message them first.) We booked dinner for 2 and paid 50% in advance. They were doing the 5-course Middle Eastern menu that week. All dishes were carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Everything was superb! I had no suggestions for improvements. From welcome drink to tea and dessert. The pssible changes that my husband and I speculated about were based on our own preferences as opposed to the quality of the food. Both Christian and Danni hosted us dearly, and even though the experience of private dining sounded intense and a bit weird at first, I would do it all again. Apparently, Danni is working on a new menu, and it is among the reasons why I already want to go back to Malacca. I would give them a whole extra star if I could just because they are not really fully vegetarians and have created and served such an impeccable veggie menu! Atmosphere and place: very intimate Service: excellent - attentive, respectful, and friendly Price: 150RM well spent per person Couple's favourite: zaatar and dip I also LOVED how beautiful the salad was presented and the honey cake, especially.
