Halal. A must visit. Authentic flavours. Portion is ok. Staff attentive. Place is fast filled up. Try the meat pie.

The food was okay and nice. The waiting time for the food is quite reasonable. We ordered pilaf, bread with soup and also noodle. Can't remember the exact name of the food.Menu available was in Korean or Uzbek so we only based on the photos, and using translation from phone. We came for dinner around 7pm and the restaurant was quite full. They also have a variety of pastries which smells really good when you walk around the area. However, we're too full at that time and didn't get the chance to taste them.

Chicken somsa (3,500₩) was really crispy and fresh, and the size was not small. It has some herbs smell, eating with spicy sauce was good. The honey cake was ok, not too much creamy and butter, Baklava was good a something different.

It is a great place to go for Central Asian food. The Uzbek plov was really nice, and the sashlik(skewers) were well cooked and tasted great. The borscht was well prepared, too. The bread was a huge size for a cheap price. The overall atmosphere was really nice, but the staff were a little slow and forgot to bring out the Napeoleon cake. The cake was divine! I would recommend coming here for good food.

Tucked away in Dongdaemun, Star Samarkand is a cosy spot offering authentic Halal Uzbek food. I tried their tandoor-baked pastries (₩2,000–₩4,000 each) — flaky, warm, and delicious. A great find for tourists craving something different and flavorful. Highly recommended!
