I've been visiting the bhojnalaya since 1976. Till date there has been no compromise in variety, quality & quantity. Hat's off to the owner GAUTAM, whom I have known for over 2 decades. Prior, I knew his father, who would boast of using the best of ingredients and the son has followed the father THE ONE & ONLY BEST BHOJNALAYA FOR A WHOLESOME & DELICIOUS THALI IN MUMBAI. Do visit.
Shree Thaker Bhojanalay has been ruling the Gujarati Thali scene of Mumbai since 1945… and rightfully so. The place serves authentic Gujarati vegetarian fare through their Unlimited Thali. Food is simple and flavourful. You will be spoiled for choice. We were served five sabzis, a dal, a kadhi, two sweets, multiple options of rotis, varieties of farsan and the main attraction.. Aamras. The choices in rice were khichdi, pulao and steam rice with Dal. There's a free flow of ghee wherever you need it. The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The service was impressively prompt and perfect. The patrons are happily urged to have more servings. At ₹1000 per Thali, I will not be surprised if some find it steeply priced. But then they make it up in quantity, quality and service. It's value for your money. A few negatives would be ambience and accessibility! The fact is that it's an old eatery which today falls short of space and hence crammed up. Also the restaurant is on the first floor, so senior citizens with trouble taking the stairs should stay away. Thirdly, we all know that there's no parking space in this locality and so taking public transport to teach here is highly advised. In the end I will say, wherever you live in Mumbai, a visit here once in a while is well worth it. P.S. They should use the tagline… Khaao Maari Saathey ?
A Gujarati Feast Worth the Wait Shree Thaker Bhojanalay offers a delightful and authentic Gujarati Thali experience in a warm, homely setting. The food is incredibly delicious, showcasing a wide array of flavorful and traditional dishes. The staff are also noteworthy, being sweet-spoken and attentive. Be prepared for a potentially long wait, as this popular spot is often busy, but the quality of the food makes it absolutely worthwhile. Given its location and potential parking challenges, it's highly recommended to never drive. Just Uber for a stress-free visit. If you're looking for a genuine taste of Gujarat, Shree Thaker Bhojanalay is a must-try.
