Visited sagar ratna for dinner and tried rava coconut dosa, dahi vada and filter coffee. Dosa was palatable,  nothing to boast about, dahi vada was much better in terms of freshness and taste, filter coffee was fine.
Service and ambience seemed fine.
As it's in main malviya nagar market the  location is a plus point.
Pricing is definitely on a higher side and taste is definitely inferior when compared to other famous outlet such as carnetic cafe, sarvana bawan, Naivedyam, patmanabham.
Also main server who took our order seemed pretty uptight.

This branch (Malviya nagar)  is nowhere near the Defence Colony branch. The South Indian thali had rajma, pata gobhi and quality of rice was very low. The taste was below average. And when asked to provide chutney so that pooris could be eaten with it since the other vegetables were below average they refused to provide it despite being told that may charge for the above.

Absolutely pathetic service.

Went to Sagar Ratna alone today and had the most disappointing experience. I couldn’t finish my dosa and politely asked the waiter to pack the remaining half. Instead of doing a basic courtesy task every restaurant manages, he handed me a piece of foil and told me to pack it myself.

Seriously? Is this how you treat your customers now? I was shocked and obviously gave him a piece of my mind before walking out.
Never expected this level of unprofessionalism from a place like Sagar Ratna. If you can’t handle basic customer service, maybe shut shop.

Absolutely NOT coming back.

After shopping in Malviya Nagar, my mother-in-law and I went to Sagar Ratna for lunch. While the food was as expected, I was extremely disappointed with the waiter's attitude. Everything was fine until it was time to settle the bill via Zomato. I politely informed him that I had made the payment and would share the code with him. To this, he rudely responded, "No need, just go from here." When I brought this to the manager’s attention, his reaction was indifferent, as if it was not a matter of concern. The waiter even lied about the interaction. I eventually walked away, realizing it wasn’t worth standing there expecting an apology. It is truly disappointing to see such a reputed chain hiring such unprofessional staff.
Never going there again.
