I came here for my birthday lunch, second time celebrating my birthday here and think I’ll make it an annual tradition as the staff made me feel super special and the food is incredible! My friend & I had the $49 lunch special, as shared the Thai curry puffs, Burmese lentil curry with roti & satay sauce, wok tossed greens with mock pork & eggplant mapo tofu, washed down with their refreshing home made iced tea. Honestly every dish was incredible and faultless, mouthwatering and beautifully presented. The standout though had to be the curry puffs and the satay sauce, I’m salivating writing this bringing back that sweet memory! Also big shoutout to the staff who were friendly, informative and attentive - really helped make me feel special and looked after on my big day. Thank you & see you next year (or hopefully before then!!)
I loved the banquet where I could choose from various dishes and enjoy them. The main meal was accompanied by vegetables, and it was great to be able to eat plenty of vegetables while enjoying meat and fish. Everything was absolutely delicious. What I especially liked was their service. I received a warm welcome, and the staff who attended to our table introduced themselves politely. From all the staff I met, there was a thoughtful consideration to make sure guests could have the best possible time, reflecting the spirit of hospitality. As a Japanese person, it was so wonderful that it truly felt like the essence of 'omotenashi' – a deep, respectful and selfless hospitality. The atmosphere was also great. Thanks to them and the amazing food, I created wonderful memories. I would definitely love to visit again. Highly recommended. ?? "omotenashi," it's a Japanese concept of hospitality that goes beyond just good service, involving a deep respect and selfless effort to anticipate and fulfill the needs of others.??
What a fabulous find this was!!! We didn’t book, just were looking for a nice lunch and happened to find this restaurant. We were seated outside and were served by an absolutely fantastic waiter who obviously has a love of food and he was knowledgeable about the dishes and made some great recommendations. The concept is to share five or six plates from the menu and share them for the set price. Very reasonable for the amount of food we were served and were unable to finish, unfortunately having to forgo the option of paying and additional $5 each for some delicious sounding deserts. We shared the special of the day which was tuna tartare on a lotus root. Also deep fried papaya fritters, the most AMAZING crispy rice salad dish, a superb barramundi sharing plate, mapo tofu and some green veg which was prepared with a vegan sauce. Cocktails were also wonderful. If I lived in a Melbourne I’d come here every week, it was such a wonderful experience. Thank you to the chefs and wait staff for such great memories ❤️
Brilliant dining experience! They now have a separate fryer so fried items can be coeliac safe! There are only 3 items on the menu that coeliacs can't have and they have gluten free bao buns (a must with the pulled lamb)! Every dish was delicious, in a great atmosphere and fantastic service (huge shout out to Marlow)!
I always love coming to Rice Paper Scissors. Every dish was a hit! We went for the 5 dish banquet - had a mix of seafood, vegetarian and a meat dish - all extremely tasteful and delightful surprises. I only took one photo, the rest was gobbled up before the camera could eat ? Will be back ♥️
