Food is worth the wait. I personally don’t prefer standing in a queue for simple snacks, but the food that I had was really impressive. Its a small eatery (restaurant) with limited space and always crowded. If you are around Matunga and want something delicious and light to eat, Ram Ashraya should be on your list. Must try the special fruit rabdi❤️
Ramashraya Restaurant, located just outside Matunga Central Railway Station, near Maheshwari Udyan, is a beloved gem for food enthusiasts in Mumbai, particularly for its classic South Indian cuisine. The restaurant has been a staple in the local food scene for decades, offering a variety of authentic and flavorful dishes. Known for its simple yet efficient service, the place exudes a homely charm that appeals to both regulars and newcomers. The cuisine at Ramashraya is predominantly South Indian, with a focus on dosas, idlis, vadas, and other regional specialties. The highlight here is the crispy, thin dosas, which come with a range of fillings and are paired with an assortment of chutneys and sambar. The vadas are equally popular for their crispy texture and soft interior. For a more filling option, the restaurant’s thali meals are a wholesome choice, often accompanied by traditional curries, rice, and chapatis. Peak hours are typically during breakfast and lunch, particularly on weekends, when the restaurant sees heavy foot fall. It's recommended to visit early in the morning or in the afternoon to avoid long waits. The restaurant is very budget-friendly, making it a popular choice for college students and working professionals alike. Parking in this area can be a bit tricky due to the restaurant's central location. While street parking is available, it may require some patience, especially during peak hours. Visiting via public transport is recommended. Overall, Ramashraya is a must-visit for anyone craving a hearty South Indian meal in a no-frills setting. Whether you're stopping by for a quick snack or a leisurely meal, it offers a great culinary experience.

The Filter Coffee is the real hero here – strong, aromatic, and a solid 10/10. Don’t leave without trying the Pineapple Sheera – it's warm, sweet, and absolutely divine (10/10).
