Ordered char koteow it is good for me , the portion, presentation and taste. The price also premium as expected. The Hunan Chicken is very good 10/10 taste like sweet honey chicken and it is so crispy. But the steam chicken feet not my style so can't give comment. Yam samosa just fine. Environment 9.5/10
It’s common to find halal Chinese cuisine in large hotels, but standalone halal Chinese restaurants—especially those offering premium dishes—are quite rare. PG is a relatively small, almost boutique-like establishment with a pleasant interior design featuring plenty of oriental touches that reflect its heritage. The private dining rooms are well-designed and comfortable, though the acoustics could use some improvement. We ordered the 8-course Chinese New Year set for 10 people at RM1600. Overall, most of the dishes were well-prepared, delicious, and quite authentic. The portions were notably generous. The standout dishes included the Steamed Grouper (9/10), which was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The Fried Sea Prawns (9/10) were equally impressive—fresh, bouncy, and well-seasoned. The Crab Fin Soup (9/10) was another highlight, boasting a rich broth filled with generous portions of crab meat, fish maw, and prawn meat, making it wonderfully satisfying. The Abalone with Chinese Mushrooms (8/10) was tender and flavorful, though the abalone itself was on the smaller side. However, this was a minor drawback in an otherwise enjoyable dish. The tummy warming Cordyceps Flower Chicken Soup (7/10) would have rated higher if the chicken didn’t taste so dry and tough. The dishes that didn’t fare as well included the Lotus Leaf Rice, which I’d rate a 5/10. Although it was well-seasoned, it was over-steamed, resulting in a mushy texture. The Yue Sang, scoring 4/10, felt more like a fruit salad with an unusual Thousand Island dressing. The fruits and vegetables were cut too roughly and thickly, lacking the finesse and elegance expected from this dish. Admittedly more good dishes and bad. However at those premium prices, big mistakes should be avoided.
