2nd visit after 5 years. The Ramen here is really a creme de la creme..the broth is cooked well, not too thin..not too thick. The staff is friendly and well mannered and. Love their Ramen.

The best Ramen I’ve tasted so far! Their Michelin star is well deserved. The place is simple yet very authentic Japanese dining experience. The price is reasonable for the quality of the food. We enjoyed every bite and every drop of the Ramen. Their chicken karaage is also equally good. I will definitely go back to this place if I will visit Kyoto again. This place is a must if you are in Kyoto area.

Tldr: very good, would 100% eat again . When in Japan, obviously you have to have ramen. This place is a little off the beaten track but it so worth it! Some of the best food you'll find in Japan is down a back alley with about 8 seats total. When you walk in, you order your food on a "vending machine" and it will print out your ticket. (It's also available in English). You can even make changes to your order like extra noodles, an egg, and others. After you pay, you hand your ticket to the waitress and then sit down. The food comes very quickly. The karaage was some of the best I've had in Japan. Is crispy but still very juicy inside. But the ramen.... Oh wow. It is so delicious! The broth is an amazing consistency and is very flavorful. I got the small portion, but even then it was more than enough food. The pork was delicious and added a lot of flavor to the dish. The noodles were perfect and not soggy at all, even after sitting for a little bit (I'm a slow eater). Overall, if you're in Kyoto, make sure you stop by and get this amazing meal!

Came based on the Michelin recommendation, left slightly underwhelmed. The ramen was good, but not spectacular, felt fairly average for ramen in Japan. The service was very quick, orders are placed on a machine as you enter so there is little to no real interaction with staff, easy if you do not speak or read Japanese. Good if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to visit.

Really fun ramen making workshop! Guided us with hands-on activity from the start. Total 5 pax of 2 groups & each person was able to do each step! Had a headscarf as a souvenir! Find the restaurant & they will bring you to the ramen making place nearby. We will get to eat the ramen later. Thank you instructors Momo & Amiru!
