But this restaurant does other regions well as well. After walking through the entire Little India and being touted at almost all restaurants except this and also this place is vegan friendly as well. We started with Vegan Vada Pav - the quintessential Mumbai snack, made perfectly. Took us too streets of Mumbai in first bite. The Vada (Potato fritter/Ball) perfectly spiced and chickpea flour coated perfectly not too thin or thick. The Pav good and altogether mmmm mmmm. The Vegan Rava Masala Dosa - very nicely done. Good crispy crepe (dosa) and Masala Potatoes and Inion filling good. The sambhar good and chutneys good. The Vegan Gobi (Cauliflower) Manchurian - the Hakka Indian Style dish was plain. We expected spicy and crispy cauliflower bites and they were neither. The Vegan Baigan Bhartha (Grilled Mashed Eggplant), was amazing. The tomatoes and onions mashed up with eggplant/aubergine and spiced so well. A bit in the spicy side but that’s how it should be. The Vegan Tandoori Roti, the whole wheat bread baked in the tandoor oven was very good. #Veganuary
One of the best vegan Pav Bhaji I have had. Really big portions. Husband had the Khichdi Dal with chapati and came with cucumber salad. He loved his dish. Everything was flavoursome. Nice welcoming staff.
10/10 for the food! Absolutely amazing Indian vegetarian cuisine. I've been coming to this restaurant for the past 4–5 days, trying a variety of dishes from North Indian to South Indian to chaats, and everything has been delicious. Today, I tried their buffet in lunch , and it was outstanding! It runs from 11 AM to 3 PM and costs only RM 21, offering a wide range of dishes with incredible taste. Just because it’s a buffet doesn’t mean they compromise on quality—definitely not. All the food was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The service is also great. I've tried several pure vegetarian Indian restaurants in Kuala Lumpur, and while some only provides good South Indian food, this place stands out because it serves both North and South Indian dishes—and they do both really well. Plus, the prices here are more affordable than others. If you're visiting Kuala Lumpur and looking for authentic Indian vegetarian food, this should be your go-to place!
Mr Naan & Mrs Idly Review – Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur Visited for Lunch & Dinner both (Buffet as well as Ala Carte) Mr Naan & Mrs Idly in Brickfields is an absolute gem for vegetarian cuisine, offering authentic flavors that truly feel like a taste of home, a rare to find abroad. Location: 4/5 – Conveniently situated on the main road in Brickfields, amidst many other Indian restaurants. It's easily accessible and hailing a cab from here is no trouble at all. Ambience: 3.5/5 – The feel is that of a regular, functional restaurant – no major highs or lows in terms of décor or unique vibes. However, it earns full marks for its excellent hygiene, which is always a crucial aspect. Food: 5/5 – Absolutely perfect! The buffet spread was outstanding, from the fresh salads to the delightful sweets. The vegetables tasted genuinely homemade, and the chapattis were just right. The halwa, being less sweet, was a welcome change, and the raita was finger-licking good. It felt light on both the stomach and the pocket, unlike heavy restaurant preparations. Even the South Indian dishes were incredibly tasty and authentic. A special mention for the Aloo Paratha – it was neck and neck with what you'd find in India. Getting food of this quality abroad is truly the icing on the cake! Staff/Service: 5/5 – The staff were excellent – not only polite but also ready to guide about Kuala Lumpur, which is a fantastic bonus. Their helpfulness really added to the positive experience. Value for Money: 5/5 – While one might find the prices a bit higher compared to India, it's genuinely difficult to find Indian food of this impeccable quality in Kuala Lumpur. It’s definitely worth every penny for the experience. What could improve? – While the ambience is clean and functional, a touch more character or unique décor could elevate the dining experience further. Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Finally, Mr Naan & Mrs Idly is a no-brainer for the best vegetarian cuisine in Kuala Lumpur. If you're craving authentic, home-style Indian food that's light and flavorful, this is the place to be. It delivers a truly satisfying meal that makes you feel right at home. You guys are ambassadors of Indian Veg Cuisine.. Keep it Up!!
Our last meal before flying out tonight and we couldn’t be happier. Paper dosa, rava dosa, idli, masala bhindi, lassis, and masala tea… everything was super tasty and totally hit the spot!
