Donkey and I were visiting my dad in the hospital, when I had a sudden craving for Tang Yuan. We decided to stop by Mister Bean, as it was conveniently located nearby, to see if they had anything to satisfy my craving. We ended up trying their Ginger Soup Beancurd with Rice Balls, as it was on promotion.

While Donkey usually prefers other options for Tang Yuan, I was really looking forward to it, and the promotion made it seem like a good deal. We ordered the small size, which came with four assorted rice balls.

We both felt the soup wasn't hot enough and lacked a strong ginger flavor. I enjoyed the beancurd, but the Tang Yuan itself wasn't my absolute favorite.  Donkey also found the rice balls to have a thicker skin and less filling than he would have preferred.

Overall, it was a mixed bag. I found it okay, but Donkey found it a bit disappointing. I think the promotion was a good deal, but the quality of the soup and the rice balls didn't quite live up to Donkey's expectations.

I'm giving it 3 stars. It's a good place to try if you're craving Tang Yuan and looking for a convenient option, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Donkey's experience was a bit lukewarm, so it really depends on your personal taste.

Bought 2 cheese pancakes. They were overcooked and cold. Told the lady manning the cashier that I would like ones that are hot and weren’t overcooked. Unfortunately she didn’t take my request well and told me that “cannot do like that”. However the young lady (Ms Wang Siew Tean?) stepped forward and showed what good customer service is. She exchanged the cold over cooked pancake for a properly cooked and warm one. Well done for her sense of maturity and good customer service attitude
