I decided to check out this ramen place because of all the great reviews—and it didn’t disappoint! The location is super convenient. I visited around lunchtime and luckily didn’t have to wait, though the restaurant is a bit narrow, so larger groups might need to wait a little. The ramen prices are surprisingly reasonable for the area—just ¥1,050 for the bowl I ordered. I didn’t go for a set, just the ramen, and it was delicious! You can choose your spice level, and I went with level 5—it was impressively spicy but still enjoyable. The bowl also came with chicken ball, which were flavorful and paired well with the noodles. For the price and taste, it’s definitely worth it. I can’t wait to go back and try out some of their other menu items!
Such a cute small place for ramen! The staff talks in English so should be good for tourists. We had the best chicken broth ramen and they have the thin noodles which we preferred. Very close to the station and on the second floor. Have the eggs, they’re amazing.
If you’re looking for tonkatsu ramen, this is not the place. BUT if you’re looking for something unique, come try it. Just have a look at my pictures. Actions speak thousand words. *oh ya, please help yourself with the vinegar / peppers. Try it on your spoon with the soup before you pour directly into your bowl ya.
A great spot if you’re into seafood ramen! The broth is super flavorful and light, made from fish and seafood instead of the usual pork. The portions are big for me. They even include an onigiri, which is a nice touch. The place itself is pretty small but cozy, and the staff are friendly. It’s a bit different from your typical ramen experience, but definitely worth trying if you’re in Shinjuku and craving something unique!
Absolutely amazing ramen experience at Ramen Kaijin! I had their signature shio ramen, and the soup was light and refreshing, made from fresh fish like red sea bream and conger eel. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the seafood and chicken meatballs were tender and flavorful. I also loved the grilled rice ball with mackerel, which turned into a delicious zosui when added to the soup. The English menu made ordering easy, and the wait was worth it for such a memorable meal. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. When it started raining as I left, they kindly offered me an umbrella, which made my day. Thank you, Ramen Kaijin team, for your care and hospitality—I sincerely hope you see this review!
