Riverside grill fish stalls with lots of parking and tables. Heard it was full during weekend. Need pay rm2 per car for parking. Food was decent but not exceptional best for me. Price wise was reasonable. Suitable for family dinner with good view of Melacca Straits. Fried sotong was the best among all we ordered, second place was the grill fish. The worst will be the boiled siham which the smell and over boiled so it can’t taste the freshness. No sauce for the siham also another point deducted.

Came to this place again after 12 years and it has changed a lot (more crowded, bigger seating area, dedicated parking space). Regardless, the food quality is still good. We had fresh grilled-seabass with fried calamari, paired with nasi lemak bungkus. If you come to Umbai, this is the place to go. Best time to go on weekdays and before 7pm to avoid crowd.

Ikan Bakar Parameswara has been one of my go-to spots for grilled seafood—I’ve eaten here over 300 times, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. The ikan bakar (grilled fish) is consistently delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked, making it one of the best places for seafood lovers. However, the service has always been a struggle. It’s difficult to get the staff’s attention, and sometimes it feels like they’re not paying enough attention to customers. Whether it’s calling for orders or asking for something extra, the response time is frustratingly slow. Given how popular this place is, better customer service would make a huge difference. Despite the service issue, the food keeps me coming back. If they could improve their staff’s attentiveness, it would easily be a 5-star experience. Rating: 4/5 – Amazing food, but please work on the service!
