Looking for a restaurant with halal and vegan options in Phnom Penh? Mealea Restaurant can be a good option. This place offers a variety of delicious dishes, from Cambodian specialties to other Asian favorites and also some Western dishes. We tried the Beef Lok Lak, which was tender and juicy with savory flavors and perfectly infused with Cambodian spices. The Crispy Sweet and Sour Tilapia was a delight, with a crispy outside, tender inside, and a refreshing sweet and sour sauce. The Tom Yam Soup was spicy, sour, a little bit sweet with a fragrant aroma of herbs and spices. We also enjoyed The Crispy Spring Rolls and The sweet and tangy Mango Salad. All the dishes were served in generous portions. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and the staff is friendly and attentive. One thing to note is that the food takes about 20-30 minutes to be served. But don't worry, they provide complimentary warm bread while you wait, which is quite filling.
We loved the atmosphere and the attentive service. Mr. DA was very kind and attentive. We were very impressed with the food: it was very delicious, tasty and beautiful. The atmosphere and setting was beautiful and calming. We will definitely be back!!! Highly recommend for a special evening!
I was looking for a rather special place to eat and remembered seeing the Palace Gate Hotel upon leaving the Royal Palace (it’s right in front). I got a reservation in February, and we were so well taken care of. Right from the parking guard to the door man to the maitre d, and the wait staff. Everything felt colonial classy from the tiles on the floor to the pictures of royalty on the walls. They have quite an extensive menu, but we opted for the lunch special: Deep fried Goat cheese salad, Beef Meatball Penne & Mango banana sago dessert. I love this place for a special occasion, but the price might bring me back just for the fun of it. I recommend Mealea highly. UPDATE: We went back again in March to celebrate a birthday. The Lunch Menu changes each month, but the set was pectacular. We loved the Barramundi Carpaccio salad, and it was a lovely surprise to have the staff sing Happy Birthday and bring out a Poached Pear in Red Wine with a candle. CLASSY!
The environment here is very good. Surrounded by green plants everywhere,There is a romantic atmosphere everywhere. The food was delicious and the staff were very enthusiastic. It is highly recommended to come here for a date or dinner.
Had a wonderful experience at Malea Fine Dining in Phnom Penh. The food was really tasty, beautifully presented, and the typical Khmer dishes recommended by the staff were excellent. Service was perfect — the team was attentive, friendly, and made great suggestions. The only downsides: the dessert selection could be better, and the mineral water is priced unreasonably high. Overall, a fantastic spot for fine dining with authentic flavors.
