107 Temple St, Jordan, Hong Kong
I had the pleasure of dining at Manakamana Nepali restaurant, nestled at the end of Temple Street in Jordan, Hong Kong, and it was truly a culinary delight. The flavors that emanated from this small and charming establishment were nothing short of amazing. The grilled lamb chops and tandoori chicken were, without a doubt, the best I have tasted in Hong Kong. Each bite was a burst of authentic Nepali flavors that left me craving for more. What truly sets this place apart is not just the exceptional food but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff. The waitresses, cooks, and all the staff members were incredibly accommodating and friendly, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. In addition to the delectable dishes, Manakamana offers a selection of beer and whiskey to complement your meal. Whether you're looking to unwind with a drink or simply enhance the flavors of the already awesome food, they have you covered. I find myself returning to Manakamana Nepali restaurant multiple times, simply because I am captivated by the overall experience they offer. If you appreciate great food, friendly service, and a cozy ambiance, this hidden gem in Jordan is a must-visit.
Probably the best Nepali restaurant in Hong Kong for authentic cuisine. Some of the dishes are average but overall it’s a great experience. The standout was the lamb chop, I’ve not had chops so thick and perfectly cooked before. Easily the best in Hong Kong. The butter chicken was okay, but the chunks were small and it needed a richer flavour. The butter naan was thinner and crispier than I’d like, it didn’t have that thick fluffiness of a good naan. The chicken tikka was very well cooked. The momo were exactly what you want, very authentic. The lamb biryani was lacking in a rich deep flavour. If you’re coming here, go for the Nepali dishes, don’t mess around with anything from the Indian menu. Seems obvious but I was fooled!
Small and cozy little restaurant that serves up food that packs a flavor punch! The food was spicy, but you can’t help but go back for more. The chili fried momos are a must-try!
Manakamana is one of my favorite places to eat in Hong Kong. The service and food are wonderful. There are lots of choices for food and I've never had anything bad from here. The chili momos are so delicious! There are options for non-meat eaters too! The Gorkhali set is my favorite if you're looking for a delicious, yet simple go-to meal. I recommend getting the Kulfi as a dessert, as the gulab juman is small, but very sweet. If you want to go in the evening, I'd recommend calling to make a reservation or see about capacity. This place is popular for dinner time. The servers are very attentive, yet chill. Not the usual pressure to hurry up, eat, and leave that many HK spots have. It seems to be a family owned restaurant and the warm atmosphere reflects this. There's Nepalese and Indian music that plays softly in the background. There's decor an art work that add to the simple charm of the place. There is a serving window in the back that allows you to see in the kitchen. It's pretty cool because they bake their naan bread and you can see them hand rolling their momos. The washrooms are located out back. While they are very small, they are kept clean! I've been coming to this restaurant for multiple years and I will continue to do so. Go there and enjoy!
