1 Rue des Fossés Saint-Jacques, 75005 Paris, France
Very good location. Twofold, one with sandwiches and the proper restaurant next door. Very warm deco and friendly service. The advertised lentil soup was good, but I prefer the Greek or Lebanese version. The entries were very good but the portions could be bigger. The kebab plates were all very good, fairly sized the meat tender and cooked in perfection. Sides were very tasty as well.
I had a fantastic lunch here with friends on my first day in Paris, staff was awesome and the food was good. An added bonus because the food was halal. I do think we could have got cheaper food but we were starving and that was the first place that popped up. This place is also really central although it was about 10 mins walk from the metro, it was just a few metres from one of the tourist sites though so that’s good. We could also see the Eiffel Tower from this site
We were surprised by how bland the dish tasted (seemed like there was simply not enough flavour/seasonings), especially given the restaurant’s high ratings. That said, the atmosphere and staff were great—they gave us plenty of time to decide and maintained a generally positive attitude throughout. The ambiance inside was also quite pleasant and intimate on a Monday evening.
Great value, hearty, tasty, huge portions. Would definitely return. €17.50 doner main with rice, fries, salad, bread plus a cold entree of your choice. Brilliant.
