In a city like Brisbane, packed with burger options, Just Poppy’s doesn’t just compete - it leads the pack. What can I say that the hundreds of other five-star Google reviews haven’t? The burgers are brilliant, handmade, and bursting with flavour. None of that processed, MSG-riddled nonsense the big fast food chains pump out. With a menu boasting more than 80 burger options; from the minimalist ‘Spud Burger’ (a potato scallop on a bun because carbs are life) for $7.90, to the sheer insanity of the Super Biff (four beef patties, double bacon, four slices of American cheddar—basically a heart attack between two buns) for $28, there’s something for everyone. Feeling overwhelmed? Don’t worry. The front of house staff are like burger therapists, guiding you through the chaos with calm, practiced precision. I asked for a recommendation, and the woman behind the counter sized me up like she was running diagnostics: “What kind of filling do you want? Beef? Chicken? Lamb? How hungry are you—just a snack, starving, or about to eat yourself into a coma?” eight minutes later, I was holding a ‘Queenslander’ burger—beef, pineapple, beetroot, the works—for $12. It was messy, sweet, salty, and perfect. And the sauces? Twenty-five to choose from, with two included per burger. An extra 50c per sauce after that if you want to go wild. From classic BBQ to bold tandoori, the sauces are there to mix, match, and elevate your burger in endlessly unique ways. Riverhills may be a quiet Brisbane suburb, but if you’re even remotely into burgers, Just Poppy’s is reason enough to make the trip. Come hungry, and you’ll quickly see why it’s worth the detour.

been coming to Just Poppies for nearly 10 years, the only thing better than their burgers is the good old fashioned service. Shout out to Marc for being a top bloke! Chips have a perfect crunch with soft insides and the chicken salt is something special. You can tell the meat paddies are made in house and are oh so delicious! Keep up the good work and see you soon!

Family recommended this place and wow not disappointed. Value for money is downright amazing, $10 burger is truly something I thought I wouldn’t see outside of chain fast food restaurants. Oh and the chips, I’ve eaten many a chip, even made many a thrice cooked chip, and these are just bloody good. Wish I lived in the area as this place would be a weekly visit location. Thanks for providing a solid feed for the family for a price that isn’t ridiculous!
