This was my first visit to the restaurant, and overall, it was an okay experience. The food was enjoyable, with the chicken and steak tacos being some of the best I've had. However, the pulled pork was dry and lacked flavour. The decor was unique and fitting for the location, adding to the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our waitress, though friendly with the chef, displayed poor customer service and a noticeable attitude when interacting with customers. We mentioned twice that we only wanted one ginger beer, yet two arrived, and due to her demeanor, we felt it was pointless to address it further. Despite this, the food was good, and I would consider returning in hopes that the service improves.

Place on my bucket list since a few years, and on my first time in the Gold Coast I HAD to try. Amazing location, the drinks were really good and the quesadilla was great. Will be back for sure!!

This is such a funky place with a lively atmosphere! The food was great, the mocktail could have fooled me for a cocktail, and the wait staff was soooo lovely and even let us sit and talk whilst they were closing up.

Absolutely Outstanding Service & Food – Made My Daughter’s 18th So Special! From the very first email organising my daughter’s 18th birthday, the team at Hail Mary Mexican were nothing short of amazing. The customer service was warm, prompt, and genuinely helpful — I felt confident from the start that we were in great hands. They went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, even allowing us to bring in a birthday cake. As soon as we arrived, they took care of it straight away with no fuss, storing it safely until it was time to celebrate. To top it off, they didn’t charge any cakeage fee, which was such a generous touch and truly appreciated. Our group was quite large, but the staff handled it effortlessly. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour — with something for everyone. The entire experience was seamless, relaxed, and so much fun, thanks to their attentive service and great atmosphere. I can’t thank the team at Hail Mary enough for helping to make this celebration so memorable. Highly, highly recommend for any special occasion or just a great night out! ???

Amazing food and margaritas. Hands down the best place for food on James Street and great value for money!
