I’ve tried the $45 7 course menu and it was worth every penny. The owner was very lovely and has explained to us how they cooked it and what’s in it. The Konjac fried was definitely our favourite. The bouncy texture with the seaweed tartare sauce was very addictive and tasty. The mushroom ragu had a chunky and tender texture. The ragu was served with the creamiest mashed potatoes. Not included in the course menu, but the chocolate mousse is a must try. It was very rich and very smooth. Will be back to try their famous focaccia next time!
Authentic Italian fare which is consistently delicious and fresh. The portions are generous and the pasta here is perfectly al dente and full of flavour. My daughter is obsessed with the focaccia Polpetz! Always amazing service and wonderful atmosphere.
I just had dinner at Fred’s, and let me tell you, it was an unforgettable feast! This isn’t just food; it’s a poetic celebration of flavor that dances on your palate. I never thought it possible to capture the vibrant essence of Italian cuisine without the classic prosciutto or Parmigiano, yet the artistry of this team has left me utterly astounded. Every dish bursts with a symphony of rich, bold flavors, lovingly crafted to nourish both the soul and the body. Each bite is a warm embrace, a delightful experience that tantalizes the senses and ignites the spirit. And let’s not overlook the irresistible charm of Italian hospitality that envelops you like a cozy blanket! This place is an absolute treasure—a must-visit for everyone, not just those who adore plant-based dishes, but for anyone who revels in the sheer joy of exquisite food.
Loved it! The 7-course tasting menu was fantastic. I’ve been vegan for 8 years, and I’ve never tasted some of the textures they pulled off, like the calamari. It’s busy and tight on space, so make a reservation.
As someone who doesn’t usually eat vegan food, I’m pleasantly surprised at our experience here. I have often found myself finding meat ‘alternatives’ to be quite lack luster but this Italian place does a pretty good job of it. We opted for the banquet as most people do and chose the seaweed flavored pasta to end with but I think we may choose the carbonara for next time as we thought it did kind of lack flavour (a bit too subtle). We enjoyed the other dishes but my personal favourite was the ‘calamari’ as the konjac really captured the texture of the real thing and the taste wasn’t far behind too. The heaps normal non alcoholic beer also impressed me as it kinda grew on me as the night went. We were seated near the door and unfortunately the door doesn’t close properly and on a cold windy night, it does suck. We found ourselves closing the door as much as we could and the waiters also assisted too. The service was very friendly and they were attentive also.
