Mummy are displayed on 2F. Audio guide is available for foreigners free of charge (passport and 200 RMB deposit) at the tourist information counter. Museum is closed on monday and national holidays.

Interesting place with great educational aspects. Kids learn the history if the various Dynasties, the different ethnics and livings. Also interesting for foreigners as most of the exhibits are labelled in English.

A great place to learn about Xinjiang's thousands of years of history and cultures. Exhibition room 5 shows well preserved bodies excavated from burial grounds from various tribes.

Entrance is FOC. Need to book slots in advance.

Wow. Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Museum. A whole museum focused on the Xinjiang region. On display are cultural relics and mummified remains from about 2,000BC to the Qing Dynasty. History of the region's development from the Han Dynasty to the current era. Need a whole day or more to cover all the exhibition halls. Not all displays have description in English.
