We were seated promptly on arrival. Tables were too close together and felt congested. The owner and staff was friendly. We ordered multiple dishes including vada pao, pay bhaji etc which are all good. I was not impressed with Mumbai bhel as the it was dry and mamra not crisp. Chai was ok too. The desert including mango Mastani was good. Overall good experience and worth eating here.
What a hidden gem! My partner and I tried this place on a whim and left wanting more. You can’t really go wrong with ordering; all the food is delicious. The service is efficient and warm. The food is flavourful, inexpensive and plentiful. We wished we lived in Melbourne; we’d come all the time
I was greeted by someone who talked to me in Marathi and instantly asked me if I wanted chai/coffee.. i felt right at home! Just like we Indians ask when a guest arrives. The staff was extremely warm and friendly. The food was at a superlative level of every word that can describe it. My nose start leaking as soon as I took the 3rd bite of that Misal and oh boy! i was in heaven. They even asked me if I was ok, I was dripping that much? Jokes apart, the food is ROOTED at Chai N Chilli. And the Chai❤️❤️❤️ i loved every sip of it, even though I am all and all a coffee person. I ordered a cutting chai because I wasn’t sure how it would taste but by the end of the portion, I was already craving more of it. Perfectly balanced chai to complement the food. I highly recommend the place.
