Changi Airport T3, 03-30/31, Singapore 819663
Had a wonderful dinner at Central Thai @ Changi Airport Terminal 3, and I have to say — this place truly delivers when it comes to both flavour and value. The restaurant offers a buffet option that’s especially worth it if you’re dining in a group. While the popular 1-for-1 weekday afternoon deal wasn’t available when we visited, even paying full price for a weekend dinner still felt completely worth it for the quality and variety of dishes we got to enjoy. The spread had an excellent mix of classic Thai dishes, all prepared fresh and bursting with flavour. The pineapple fried rice was fragrant and beautifully seasoned — a simple dish done really well. I especially loved the stir-fried beef with long beans and basil, which was rich, spicy, and had that perfect balance of sweet and savoury that Thai food is known for. The beef was tender, the vegetables crisp, and the sauce had just enough heat to keep things exciting. The long bean stir-fry was another winner — flavourful and slightly smoky, with a satisfying crunch from the beans. The butter prawns were coated in a thick, creamy sauce that was rich yet addictive, while the eggplant and basil stir-fry stood out for its deep, earthy taste balanced by fresh herbs. The steamed fish in soy sauce was a highlight of the meal — tender, fresh, and perfectly cooked, soaking up all the savoury-sweet flavours of the broth. And of course, no Thai feast feels complete without a comforting pot of clear tom yum soup — tangy, aromatic, and packed with prawns, mushrooms, and herbs that added brightness to the meal. The staff were attentive and friendly, checking in often and clearing plates quickly so the table never felt cluttered. The service was efficient despite the weekend crowd, and the overall ambience was casual, comfortable, and family-friendly. Whether you’re coming for a casual group meal or a weekend indulgence, Central Thai delivers both in taste and experience. The food is consistent, the portions generous, and the flavours authentically Thai. Definitely a spot I’ll be returning to — especially when that 1-for-1 deal comes around again!
I went on a Monday night, 7.30pm. Restaurant only had 1 other table, was quiet, empty, peaceful and it’s my ideal dining environment We had the buffet for $40++ per pax. Comes with unlimited free drinks, ice cream, mains. I love how their Thai milk tea and lemon tea is unlimited… not some 1 glass per pax thingy. We were served by aunty Mei Wah and sister Liyana. I’m thankful to sister Liyana and an uncle I don’t know the name off for clearing our plates promptly and getting me mayonnaise. Aunty Mei Wah was so sweet and kind, clearing our plates promptly, helping us make the Tom yum less spicy, getting me hot water, she told us to take our time despite the restaurant closing soon. She reminded us there is free ice cream to eat too. I spun the wheel 2 times and won a free desserts and drink. She advised me on what to get. She is really lovely, like another mum tbh. Would love to see her again next time when I come back. Fish w Thai chili was v soft and lots of meat. But I shouldn’t have gotten Thai chili flavour cos damn it was spicy. It wasn’t overall spicy, but simply bc we had several other spicy dishes as well Pineapple fried rice 1st portion damn small. 2nd one was x2 the portion haha. Not mind-blowing but it was good. I love how there are pineapple cubes in the fried rice. Pad Thai was nice too. Nothing impressive, but it was done well, like how pad Thai should be Green curry my fav comfort food as always. Generous chicken portions. Thick, fragrant, I love it! Tom yum was quite spicy, so we added more hot water. Generous beef portions. Came as a hotpot, I love how we can keep it hot for long Black pepper beef not bad, strong black pepper flavour. But I realise I don’t really like black pepper haha… it’s just my personal preference. Would like it if the beef was a bit more tender Basil chicken isn’t ur light and watery kind. It’s more heavy, oily and legit spicy. It’s delicious Prawn cakes were fantastic. Super crispy, lots of prawns, I love it. Damn shiok haha Fish cakes was meh. Nothing impressive. Prawn omelette was good too. Seafood hotplate tofu was nice and comforting. Sambal salted egg long beans not my fav. Don’t like sambal veg personally. But I think others would love it. I should’ve gotten brocolli prawns haha Salted egg creamy prawns was brilliant. Gigantic prawns, the salted egg sauce was so good I was drizzling it over my rice. It was fried with the shell but the shell is soft enough to eat without peeling. It’s the most impressive dish out of all. Def will order this again. Cereal prawns has giant prawns and lots of cereal bits and so so good. I add the cereal bits to my noodles and rice. I wasn’t sure if it is soft enough to eat with the shell, my friend said it’s a bit hard so I peeled the shell off. Seafood glass noodles was nice too but nothing to rave abt Coconut juice was lovely but it’s an old coconut so no soft meat for me to eat haha. But it’s ok, I understand the constrains Love the glutinous rice with coconut ice cream dessert Love the free flow ice cream cups as well that came with the buffet. It’s those cheap Mingo cups but not complaining cos I am happy there is ice cream for dessert. Nice way to end the meal. Thai milk tea became a bit diluted after a while with the ice, wasn’t sweet enough for me haha. But their lemon tea was really good Overall, their food is really really good. Portions are generous, flavourful, tasty, more towards the heavy and bold side as compared to smth light. Has proper Thai spices and herbs and veg. Lots of seafood, meat. Big juicy prawns too. Super value for $$ cos the 2 of us ordered 20 dishes and I eat a lot haha. I was so so happy and am def coming back again.
The food is delicious and there are many variety to choose. The staffs are very friendly and couteous. They are also prompt in clearing away the empty plates.
Central Thai Food — not a single miss! Every dish is delicious and authentically Thai. The lemon tea and milk tea aren’t too sweet and super refreshing. The waitress Mei Wah was so accommodating and gave fantastic service. Must try the mango sticky rice!
Thank you Ms. Grace for making our reservation and being kind in helping us to order the right food. We went their for a buffet, and it was all worth. Steamed seabass in lemon chilli was the highlight. Prawns needed better cleaning but overall it was a good experience. There are so many options that you will for sure not leave disappointed. Vegetarian pineapple fried rice was delicious. In the end we even had some nice ice creams. Overall must go atleast once to try authentic thai food. We had a memorable lunch.
