Saigon Garden, 99 Nguyễn Huệ, Ward, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh 70000
Location, location, location = $$$. Popular with tourists. There are a bunch of shops jammed into this building. We were hungry after looking at the Tet decorations in the plaza. Expensive but the portions were big. Taste was okay. The basil fried rice was not flavorful. The Mixed Pho plate (no broth) was great. TIP: All the shops share a restroom. Ask the server for a restroom admittance slip of paper.
We had the pleasure of dining at Be An Vegetarian in Ho Chi Minh City, and it was truly one of the most memorable meals of our trip. We've tried many hot pots over the years in different countries, but nothing comes close to the creamy hot pot soup we had here. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced – a beautiful blend of savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic elements that made every bite feel like a warm hug. Even after trying countless hot pots, this one easily stands out as the best we’ve ever had. The vegetables, tofu, and mushrooms were fresh and cooked to perfection, soaking up the creamy broth wonderfully. The ambiance of the restaurant is also worth noting – it's calm, peaceful, and beautifully decorated with a modern yet cozy touch. It's a perfect little escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. What made our experience even more special was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They made us feel very welcome and well looked after throughout our meal. The only small inconvenience was the restroom situation – to use the bathroom, you need to ask the staff for a key or a paper slip, which can be a bit awkward if you’re in a hurry. Still, the staff handles it with kindness and efficiency, and it doesn’t take away from the overall wonderful experience. If you're in Ho Chi Minh City and love plant-based food, or just want to try something truly delicious, Be An Vegetarian is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!
Absolutely loved our experience here! We had the hotpot and it was delicious, bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. The Vietnamese vegetarian dishes were some of the best we’ve ever had, full of freshness and perfectly balanced spices. A special thank you to Hoang My for the warm and attentive service, she made our evening even more enjoyable :) Highly recommended for anyone looking for high-quality vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine!
Taking a break from my mostly carnivorous diet, Be A was a refreshing change. The food was lovely, great flavours and textures. Hoang My was my server and was wonderful. I had the spring rolls and Pho Tron (dry style Pho).
The restaurant is located in the Saigon Garden complex, not too hard to find, near Gogi BBQ. The food is delicious, it’s vegetarian, but the flavors are both mild and rich. The portions are a bit small, but the prices are reasonable. Dishes are nicely presented. Some staff members aren’t very friendly and tend to stare at others, which can be uncomfortable. The staff at the Trần Cao Vân branch are more welcoming in comparison.
