318 Lincoln Road, Addington, Christchurch 8024, New Zealand
The Afghan Restaurant in Christchurch is a hidden gem for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. Located on Lincoln Road, it serves delicious flame-grilled lamb and chicken kebabs, fragrant rice, fresh salad, and a flavorful chicken curry. The kebabs are perfectly spiced and tender, while the curry is rich and comforting. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, with an open kitchen, adds to the experience. The owner, Abdul, skillfully grills over open flames, creating a homely vibe. At $23 per meal, the portions are generous, offering incredible value. Though the hours can be unpredictable, that only makes dining here feel even more special. The rest of the staff are characters as well which just adds to the experience! If you’re after hearty, authentic Afghan food, this spot is a must-visit in Christchurch!
Hi!If you wanna eat in,please prepare your container. You can’t finish easily.let’s less to use plastic container? I was surprised to their lambs Because I’m pretty scared lamb smelling, this one doesn’t have!!? If you like me have this problem, you can try and that will be alright ? If you wanna eat in,you can go to reception directly for asking staff have any seat. Then just have to tell them how many people you are.Fixed meal for everyone. By the way,the line is for someone wants to take away.
I know this authentic for sure after seeing the Arabic sign. Dining in is having just one set of menu for every person that is quite amazing for me they will serve a lamb and chicken. The atmosphere is quite smoky. The rice is soft and tender with a little hint of chicken taste flavor. The chicken butter is like curry stew. It’s very tender. And the spice powder brings all the flavor with a little heat. The lamb and chicken grill are so good. For me as an Asian this place is good to try.
Packed queue and worth the wait. The flavour was bold, portions were generous, and the menu delivered exactly what you’d expect from an authentic Afghan spot. The skewers were smoky, the rice well-spiced, and that chicken curry? Absolute standout. If the line outside doesn’t convince you, the first bite will.
Great place amazing food but make sure to be early cos the line gets longer.definetly the best takeaway for me and my boys.?????????
