The best Indian Restaurant we were able to visit! Better Indian Food than we had in India! We loved the delicious Indian food including naan bread and the great contrast of tasty great Pizza out of the hot pizza oven. To stay here is like being with your family and it’s a fantastic timeout after a day full of awesome sightseeing in The crowded city of London! The taste … the service .. it’s a 10PLUS with the perfect familiar service and being of Payal, she is lovely and caring! Thank YOU!!!
warm and pleasant atmosphere. amazing food. good drinks. definitely would come again. see pics for food and menu... I had the chilli chicken starter followed by the kadai paneer. scrumptious.
Bestest restaurant in the world. Absolutely fantastic restaurant for food and service as usual. We have been many times with friends and family. Food is outstanding, curries, naan all dishes are very authentic. About the service, always on the top as usual, first class service by staff. Very very satisfied. Payal Ben and hareshbhai & team served us well. They were taking care of us and ensuring that we have a wonderful experience. Thank you so much 1947 & team.
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — rich, authentic, and full of flavor. Every dish tasted freshly made and perfectly spiced. It wasn’t just a meal, it felt warm and soulful — like dining in a real Indian home. A special thank you to Payal, who was incredibly kind and attentive. She took the time to explain the dishes and helped us choose the perfect combination. Her recommendations made a big difference, and we truly appreciated her friendly approach. Cozy atmosphere, heartfelt service, and outstanding food — we will definitely come back. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys real Indian cuisine!
I couldn’t say better things about Payal and her husband’s restaurant. It was probably our favorite meal of the trip. Well, I’m pretty sure I heard my wife say that… If you’re looking for great Indian food in Whitechapel, you can’t go wrong.
