stayed at VNAHomes serviced apartment for 3 nights, and overall, it was a decent experience. The location is in a good area, safe and relatively quiet, although it's about a 15-25 minute ride to the Old Quarter. But hey, no big deal – Grab and Xanh SM (Vietnam's versions of Uber) are easy to use for getting around.
The place could use a little work though. They definitely need to step up their cleaning game, especially with the bedding and blankets. The pillowcase has a strong bleach smell mixed with odor, which is quite headache-inducing and suffocating. The standing shower needs some attention too – it’s not the best setup. They could really use a deep clean to fix some of these details.
Now, for the fun part... I got hit with a charge of 150 VND for a “dirty” towel – I mean, come on, that’s a steep price for a rag, right? So, note to self and fellow travelers: if you’re ever here, check with the receptionist about the towel price upfront, or you might end up paying top dollar for an old, recycled towel, just like I did. The towel, which had been used many times and washed repeatedly, seemed like it should have been replaced.
The daily cleaning was nice, but here's the kicker: they never changed the bed sheets. I placed a napkin under the sheets on the first day, and when they came to clean, they just folded it – not once did they change the sheets. Come on, guys! A little more attention to detail would go a long way.
One thing to keep in mind: if you prefer not to have housekeeping come in during your stay, make sure to place the “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door. Otherwise, they might come to clean your room, even if you don’t need it.
And here's a heads up: the bed feels like a rock. If you're used to soft, cushy beds, you might be in for a surprise. But hey, if you're looking for something that’ll really support your back, this is it!
Overall, friendly staff I’d give this place a solid 4/5, but with the management, who ripped me off with that towel charge, I’m dropping it to 3/5. It’s a decent place to stay, but there’s room for improvement.
