The Shorea was everything we needed for a short relaxing annual group outing for 40 pax.
We had the entire place to ourselves which is good because we have the privacy for our sales training and meeting as well as making a lot of noise cheering for the teams we had the treasure hunt organized by the resort. It was great fun and bonding for all of us. We have early morning yoga and free time to swim.
The food was also great and yummy though we can have more fruits as several of us are vegetarians.
There are comfortable amenities for the elderly (except for the stairs if the elderly is having trouble walking, but not a big issue for us because we are all very healthy).
Rooms are neat and clean and impeccably maintained. Manned by experienced and courteous staff. Would love to visit again and recommend to all my friends. Fantastic ambience. Worth the money spent.
It was one of our best yearly retreat ever!

Location was great with beautiful scenery, service was not too bad as well. BUT just like the other reviews here, the maintenance and cleanliness is extremely poor. Villa was dilapitated, cracks and holes everywhere, wooden planks worn down, moldy toilets. Lizard poop everywhere, bedsheets were stained, we also arrived to our bed being full of insects underneath the pillows.

If you are looking for a nature getaway and don’t mind the dirt, dust and worn down look, then the place would be fine for you. But considering the rather premium price you pay, the place could definitely use major maintenance and upkeep.

I stayed in Cassia poolside villa for couple of days.  The location is great for a relaxed stay for families. Private pool & the common pools are great. However, with the price tag what they have, the facilities, cleanliness and food options/ services can be better & still need to improve. There is nothing else to do other than sit & relax in the pool, which can be boring after a while, especially on long stays. The rooms are average in size, bathroom could be better, i felt the bathtub was unnecessary and which cramp the bathroom space. The Fauset was broken, washbasin was clogged! adding to this, there is no washbasin etc near to the dining area and u have to depend on this clogged washbasin every time which is inside the bathroom. Food options were very limited, the resort was understaffed (may be due to holidays). Management can do better and improve the overall place & services with the price tag what they have.

We booked the Cassia Pool Suite at for 3 days, 2 nights , inclusive of jungle trekking, for RM2596. I had stayed here back in 2018 and it was stunning. However, this time was a complete disaster.

Upon reaching the Cassia suite, we found: 1) Broken sliding door lock, couldn’t even secure our room. 2) Gaps between doors  leaving it wide open for mosquitoes and insects. 3) Overwhelming smell of mustiness and filth. 4) Lizard droppings on the floor. 5) Bathroom was old, dirty containers pretending to be “amenities”, sitting on filthy plastic shelves; moldy, stained shower curtain. 6) Drinking water was in a big stained container — completely questionable and undrinkable. 7) Dirty, grimy wooden deck and filthy private pool.

We decided within 10 mins of arriving it was completely inhabitable. We contacted management for a refund, but they refused, hiding behind their cancellation policy. Offered another suite (Begonia) which was just as bad — dusty, stained, with a cat trapped under the bed.

This place charges 5-star prices but is barely 1-star in reality. False advertising, unhygienic, unsafe, completely not worth the money. Avoid The Shorea at all costs. If you’ve booked, cancel while you can.

Very Good stay and comfortable with a  natural environment , loving the pool and food. Staff Name Amirul and other staff was very good on welcoming us and very helpful on our each request and also arranging the food. totally amazing with the nature , sound of birds and greenish.
