It's a beautiful, well organized, and cosy hostel. They offer towels and slippers on arrival and have lockers inside the rooms. Beds are cosy, private, with warm yellow lights. Bathrooms are clean, fresh, and hygienic. Breakfast is good too. We loved our one night stay at Speck!
The newish hostel is conveniently located on a side street with a 7-11 and some delicious street food and a new ramen shop which seemed quite popular. It's a short walk to BTS and there are malls on either side. I stayed in a room with an attached bathroom. The room was comfortable enough to fit a small flimsy table. It was clean and smelt great of clean sheets. Bathroom was spotless too. The room also came with an air purifier which was excellent. The bed and sheets were comfy and I slept well. Reception was very friendly and helpful and got me a cab to the airport at the last minute.
Outstanding operation. Quiet, clean and conveniently located close to BTS station. Also, frosty air con, for those of you who are travelling from temperate countries. Comfy beds. Security is also excellent since they provide lockers. Plus no one can walk in off the street. Would stay again.
I was a bit dubious about staying in a capsule hotel. It was my second experience. Speck was great. I only slept in the room so it was a great choice. The bed was comfortable and the aircon and duvet was really nice. There was a small cubicle space for valuables and a separate locker that was not able to take a suitcase but was good for large rucksacks that were not bursting full. There were 3 hanging points and folding table and a charging point in the capsule area. The communal shower/toilets were adequate. They served a small and delicious breakfast, with breakfast staples and drinks. Great place to stay when on a solo trip.
Since the place is originally an upscale hostel, the private room which I booked frankly is quite underwhelming. Just double beds (which is very comfortable) with smart TV plus basic amenities (soap/shampoo, towels, hair dryer) and ample space for two. No fridge and the desk is kind of unusable. However the location couldn’t be better, it’s located at the Japanese enclave on Sukhumvit Road and only 3 min walk to the BTS stations, which also connected to the high-end M Quartier shopping mall. The famous 24h Villa Supermarket that carries international goods also just across this place. Gotta appreciate the breakfast that also serves cooked meal (krapow/egg sausages) on too of cereals and toast.
