Great location walking distance to pedestrian street with tons of food and shopping. Good room size and comfortable. My favourite is the gym which is huge with almost all the equipment just like a full gym. However there’s room to improve - room hair dryer is very outdated, heavy and too hot. Room slipper is textured material which is very uncomfortable, I ended up wearing room slipper I took from another hotel. Confusion in lounge access - I received email and my apps stated I was upgraded and welcome to executive lounge but then informed at check in counter it’s generic email I do not have access to executive lounge.
Excellent hotel at a convenient location near Nanjing pedestrian street and metro. Quality is good as expected from the Marriott brand. We stayed 4 nights in a corner room on the 26th floor and loved it. Breakfast was great -- we loved the Chinese food selection, but they also have an entire side with Western breakfast food. We used the Didi miniapp in Alipay to call cars to go around Shanghai. It was nice to stroll around the Nanjing St pedestrian area, which was just a short walk from the hotel. We'll definitely stay here again the next time we visit Shanghai.
Marriot Marquis is awesome. Service is very good. Breakfast selection are fantastic. Executive lounge is perfect. Room is clean and spacious. Keep up the good works. Thank you.
My family and I stayed at Marriott Marquis at SH City Center in late May. What a wonderful stay! Among all the Marriott brand hotels, (and believe me, we have stayed at most of high-end Marriot brands in Shanghai), this one is our favorite. We call it our "home away from home". Aside from the modern design, beautiful decor and spacious and comfortable space, the service at Marriott Marquis certainly stands out. We are especially touched by the professionalism and personalized care from the Manager, Cora Tong. As a Platinum Elite member, I requested room upgrade with my nightly awards. Ms. Tong made suggestion on available rooms and made notes on our upgrade. Once we moved in, Ms. Tong would check on us to make sure that everything was OK. Ms. Tong best exemplifies the leadership and management style at Marriott Marquis SH City Center. For that, the 3 nights stay there is truly a highlight of our Shanghai trip.
Full of places with food around the hotel. There is an outdoor lounge for tea break, wouldn’t recommend going there when it’s cold. Breakfast was really nice. The building is very nicely decorated too and quite big. Room is spacious
