Kampung Sungai Semungkis, 43100 Hulu Langat, Selangor
Rumah Kebun is a spot near a waterfall site. Not to mention, this is a quiet oasis that takes only 30 minutes to drive from Kuala Lumpur! The best part is, you can even enjoy a dip at a refreshing pool fed by natural spring water too! And when the sunsets, don’t forget to tilt your head back to catch the dazzling view of the stars.
Rumah Kebun is a private villa that can house up to 12 people – perfect for trips with your family and close friends. Take a refreshing dip into the natural spring water pool right in front of the villa. You can also go ahead and dip your toes into the Semungkis River that runs across the property.
Definitely a need to try place... U get the forest vibe, river, u hv a pool big enough for our big family. We love it. The facilities are the bomb. Sleeping was good. Just check out the place, u will not be disappointed... Promise!
The best staycation ever! It was during our not-so-pleasant glamping session in May this year that we booked Rumah Kebun Residence (not to be confused with their camping ground) for one-day staycation on Malaysia Day itself. Instantly regretted our decision - should have booked for another day instead! Pros: 1) We got the entire residence for ourselves - it comes with BBQ pit, fireplace, natural pool, verandah for chilling, hammock, kitchen facilities, 5 rooms, toilets 2) Natural pool - probably the first thing that you’d notice as you cross the river to where the residence is located. The pool is built where the natural water from the mountain flows into it, with overflow tunnel to channel the excess back to the river. I love the turquoise colour - and had a great time splashing around with the kids. 3) BBQ pit - just bring all the ingredients as they do not provide food beyond mesh, bbq skewers and cutleries. We had planned everything a month prior to this and proceed to have a great bbq session. 4) pay extra (they’ll happily set up for you) for the caretaker to set up the fire where everyone can gather and sit around to enjoy the warmth. 5) No air conditioning (just fans) but at night, the weather is cool so no problem with it. Cons: 1) spot lights at night can be a nuisance because from where I slept, it shone directly at my direction. Please check which switch can turn off the spotlights. 2) Literally no cooking ingredients will be provided - we have to bring everything including oil, seasoning, and most importantly.. drinking water supply. Luckily I checked beforehand, and went to buy few 10 litres of water bottle from 99 speedmart.
Great location and surroundings especially the outdoor pool. The stream right in front was also a nice touch. Unfortunately we were not made aware of the lack of air conditioning and there weren't many fans around the facility so it got extremely hot. Some cupboards were also moldy and were not maintained which produced an odd smell. Overall, a great experience especially with a bigger family/crowd and would definitely come back if the things mentioned above got taken care of!
