Kegalle-Siyambalapitiya-Dewalegama Rd, Kegalle, Sri Lanka
We came over from the UK in September 2022 and stayed here for the last leg of our Sri Lanka trip. It is a beautiful venue, located in the heart of the jungle and has exceptional views. Slightly off the beaten track, it offers peace, quiet, tranquility and relaxation. The complementary yoga class and massage we received reflects the general ambiance. The guided tour around the estate provided a real insight into the tea and rubber industries in Sri Lanka. The facilities are top class, we had a spacious bedroom with a lovely bed, a balcony looking out over the jungle and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay including an outdoor bath! The staff were very friendly and always able to accommodate our mealtimes. The food was excellent, especially the curries, roti and the egg hoppers! It is very well located for a day trip to Kandy as well as local elephant sanctuaries and we would highly recommend it as a place to stay.
Wonderful family run hotel with beautiful scenery. Excellent food. Makes its own tea in an employee owned cooperative
What an amazing few days we had at Rosyth Estate House. I was travelling with my girlfriend and another couple and we had a beautiful time. Very relaxing, with plenty of activities to do on-site. We visited their own tea plantation with hand rolled artisan produce, did a cooking class and walked around the estate. The meal was also the best we had in Sri Lanka hands down! Would highly recommend staying if you get the chance.
Our stay at Rosyth Estate House was truly unforgettable! We were warmly welcomed with a soothing foot massage from their talented masseuse, and the proprietors, Neil and Farzana, made us feel like family right from the start. The entire staff mirrored their hospitality, ensuring every need was met with genuine care. The meals were the best of our trip, and we loved participating in a cooking class where we learned to prepare traditional dishes. Farazana even gifted us her curated recipe book, inspired by her grandmother's kitchen! The estate tour was a highlight, as I got to harvest rubber and hand-make tea, connecting deeply with the land. Each morning began with optional yoga sessions, adding to the tranquility of this beautiful oasis. In a country that can feel busy and chaotic, Rosyth Estate was our peaceful retreat. If you’re looking for a bespoke experience in Sri Lanka, I wholeheartedly recommend Rosyth Estate House. Thank you, Neil, Farzana, and the wonderful staff for everything!
Our first trip to Sri Lanka and our first hotel. An oasis of calm and tranquility on a beautiful tea plantation estate. Incredible food, wonderfully friendly and warm staff, amazing accommodation. Would very highly recommend. An absolute must to stay
