Can I please thank the staff and management for a wonderful stay at the Renaissance Putuo Hotel, especially Clark ( who I remember as the superman ) for his friendly check-in service, and useful information and excellency in speaking English. His attention to detail is admirable, he took extra steps to make sure our request or any of our concerns were addressed. When We felt the room was hot, he took the liberty to find us at the lounge and ask if we needed a fan. He then proceeded to send the fan up to our room. His team even called us up in the next few hours and asked if the fan was of any help. Everyone else we met, either at the restaurant or the cleaning stuff in the hallway, were the nicest people that we’ve encountered among all the Marriott hotels, which gave us an impressive view of the Renaissance brand in China.

Almost Perfect - Renaissance Putuo If you are going to Shanghai and are wondering where you should stay, look no further than the Renaissance in Putuo district. It’s terrific! Great location, subway Line 7 is below the hotel, When you arrive, you will start to notice a difference by the friendly arrival greeting from the reception staff. The staff is not only friendly but professional, polite and knowledgeable about the city. Most of the staff have been there for years so they know how to make a guest welcome. In addition, it’s easy to find an English speaker among them. Cici, George, Frida and the rest will try to accommodate any request that you may have. Make sure you book with breakfast included, you will start the day with a smile on your face, They have a wide variety of dishes for you to choose. You can have a Western or Chinese style breakfast. They offer freshly made juice: orange, carrot, cucumber, apple nd watermelon. They have excellent cooks that will satisfy your requests. On top of that, they are friendly and always have smile on their face. The only drawback is that it is difficult to find an English speaker. But don’t fret as the staff will do everything to understand what you want and bring someone that can help you. They do not use their Executive Lounge, they accommodate their guests in the restaurant. Most hotels offer a happy hour with a few snacks and treats. Putuo offers a variety of meals mostly Chinese as they cater to their clientele, majority Chinese. The happy hour includes drinks. They offer beer, wine, liquors for you to make your own plus small special mixed drinks made by their bar. When checking into the hotel, be sure to ask how much the Happy Hour will cost to include in your room. Of course, the evening staff is just as professional and friendly as the morning staff. Whoever trains the restaurant staff should be proud of the results. The fitness center and pool are better than most Renaissance. The gym has everything for a good cardio or muscular workout. They have a separate yoga/meditation room, close the doors and turn off the lights, a relaxing experience. Of course, the staff is very good, although only the manager speaks English. The Renaissance Putuo is almost perfect, it’s slight flaws re the gym and pool only open at 7AM, their jacuzzi is warm, good for the kids but not for adults. They do not have Business Center but whatever service you ask, they will get it done. Lastly, if you order delivery from outside hotel, you will have to go downstairs, outside the hotel to the delivery boxes to pick up. This is a hassle if it is too hot or too cold or raining. Otherwise, the Renaissance Putuo is a 9 out of 10! Oh, did I mention that the price is incredibly reasonable.

Excellent service and staff are very responsive to the needs of travellers. I especially want to thank Frida for her help . She showed us how to connect to Alipay services for metro use and gave excellent suggestions on transport modes, etc. Love that she was so patient with us and answered all our questions with a friendly smile. We are pleased with the support and service oriented environment in the hotel. It’s so close to the metro stop and to shopping.

Very good hotel, excelent service, there is a china bank, food court and metro just in front of the hotel.( 2 min walking distance)

I need to say that i had positive feelings during my stay in Renaissance Putuo Hotel. Very friendly service, clean hotel, very good food (not only local but also continental), gym perfectly maintained by the staff, in the swimming pool area can relax ??
