Phillips House, 6 Lansdowne Rd, Croydon CR0 2BX, United Kingdom
We always stay here when we have events in London. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. In particular Teresa was very helpful and accommodating at breakfast - it was a quiet day and breakfasts were being made to order. There weren’t any croissants or pain au chocolates left so she had her colleagues in the kitchen cook 2 of each for us going above and beyond in customer service. Having friendly and accommodating staff is what makes an establishment go from good to outstanding as you go away with a smile on your face. The lady who checked us in was also very friendly and accommodating. Premier Inn Croydon - please ensure your staff who are exceptional are rewarded appropriately- they make guests keep coming back ??
Premier Inns are always fairly standard, its often the staff that make the difference. Nice place. But. Teresa was superb!! Teresa at breakfast was awesome. Attention to details, pressional at all times with a cheerful approach. This was a buffet breakfast at a premier inn, but her skills and attentiveness was like something out of a high class London Belgravia hotel. Honestly she was that exceptional. Would recommend this hotel overall.
Superb value for money as usual. Right next to East Croydon station, spotless rooms, and insanely comfortable beds. A shout out to Theresa who appeared to be working at the restaurant solo – she never seemed to stop for a second and yet kept a smile & cheerful attitude (even when the credit card machine wasn’t working). Receptionist Mabel was also *such* a warm friendly character. The only fault was that there seemed to be a queue at Reception most of the morning – no idea if it’s fiddly tech, or more training needed, but it did seem like everything being done (payments, early check-ins, etc.) was taking 2-3 times longer than one would expect. Overall though a solid branch in the Premier Inn tree, and I’d happily stay here again.
Very decent accommodation for the price. Got a double room which was spacious for London standard. Very close to Croydon East railway station and is just a 2-3 minute walk. They don’t provide basic toiletries which is a bit disappointing. They had decent breakfast options, but they were smashed with the crowd and couldn’t keep up the pace. They could have informed before taking the breakfast booking that it would take a while for buffet to be back on table rather than make people wait for plates and food. Other than that a really good place to stay.
