Overall, flowers and views were the only exception.

I’ve always chosen Park Hyatt when visiting Busan from United States, so I trusted them with one of the most important moments of my life: my proposal. I booked their proposal package expecting something elegant and memorable. Instead, it turned into a huge disappointment.

I arrived at the hotel around 3:30 p.m. for a 4 p.m. proposal. When I walked into the room to check the setup, I was immediately disappointed. There were water stains on the wall, dirt marks on the floor, and the overall condition of the room felt neglected and careless. This is not what anyone should expect from a luxury hotel, especially not for something as meaningful as a proposal.

To make things worse, they kept going back and forth about whether the buffet was included. First it was, then it wasn’t, then it was again. I must have been told five different things. Even at the restaurant, staff pulled me aside to say it wasn’t included for two people, even though the proposal package clearly states that it is. That was unbelievably frustrating. On top of everything else, I had to argue about what was already promised in the package. Really?

By the time I saw the room, there was no time to request a different one. The decorations were already in place and my photographer was on the way. We had to avoid certain angles just to keep the damage out of frame. Whether staff noticed or not, that room never should have been used for a proposal.

I left feeling embarrassed and angry. I trusted Park Hyatt with one of the most meaningful days of my life, and they treated it like it didn’t matter.

IFor future trips to Busan, I’ll be booking elsewhere. Avani is one of the hotels I’ll be considering. This experience is my own, perhaps it’s an outlier.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Park Hyatt Busan, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. After spending a few days in Seoul, we took the high-speed rail down to Busan, and everything from arrival to check-in was seamless and efficient—setting the tone for a truly relaxing stay.

We booked the Premium Family Suite, which was incredibly spacious, thoughtfully designed, and offered the most stunning views of Gwangan Bridge. Watching the bridge light up at night from our floor-to-ceiling windows was an unforgettable sight—like a painting come to life. The suite itself felt like a calm retreat, blending modern luxury with warm, minimalist elegance. The layout was perfect for a family, with plenty of room to unwind, and the separate living space gave everyone their own place to relax.

The service was impeccable—gracious, attentive, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. From the concierge to the front desk to housekeeping, every interaction was warm and welcoming.

The location was also a major plus. The hotel is in Marine City, just a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway station, making it easy to access just about every corner of Busan. Whether we were exploring Haeundae Beach, visiting cultural sites, or heading to Centum City for shopping, everything was convenient and easy to reach. There’s also a convenience store nearby, and plenty of cafes, shops, and restaurants are either a short stroll or quick taxi ride away.

Overall, our stay at Park Hyatt Busan was a highlight of our trip to Korea. The combination of luxury, comfort, and stunning views made it an unforgettable experience. We would absolutely stay here again the next time we return to Busan!

Beautiful rooms with nice views. The staff were very nice. They take your luggage when you arrive and will deliver it to your room. Check in is on the 30th floor.
The rooms are spacious, clean and relaxing. In addition - they have one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to and a pool and hot tub too. They kindly request for you to wear a swimming cap in the pool and hot tubs and can be purchased at the reception area if needed.

They have a breakfast that you can pay for - we did not as it was a bit overpriced. Lots of cafe nearby so able to get something quick to eat. There’s a small coffee shop downstairs but they open at 9am.

Disappointing Service for a 5-Star Hotel

I had high expectations for this hotel, but the service was underwhelming and disappointing. For a 5-star establishment, I expected a higher level of attentiveness and hospitality, but overall, I found the staff to be indifferent and not particularly friendly or proactive in meeting guest expectations.

One of the biggest letdowns was the lack of basic courtesy and assistance. On multiple occasions, I walked back to the hotel entrance carrying large laundry bags, and not once did the staff acknowledge me or offer to help. They seemed disinterested and unwilling to go above and beyond, which is surprising for a hotel of this caliber.

Additionally, the front desk staff recommended what turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. They directed us to an extremely overpriced Japanese restaurant in the apartment complex next door, which was not only poor in quality but also a complete disappointment given the hotel’s endorsement.

Room service food was mediocre at best, falling short of what one would expect from a luxury hotel. On a positive note, the room was clean and modern, but the lighting system was frustratingly temperamental and difficult to switch off.

If customer service is important to you, I would not recommend staying here. However, if you do decide to book a stay, I highly suggest requesting an ocean-view room, as the view is one of the few redeeming aspects of this experience.
