Great family holiday chilling at the island! Love the hospitality! Staff were cheery and warm. Tom (at Kids Club) is such a treasure, engaging the kids and being energetic throughout the days we were there. Food was great and the staff takes very good care with individual dietary needs. Highly recommended!
A secluded island offered a beautiful backdrop for creating lasting family memories. The pristine beaches and clear waters provided endless opportunities for fun and relaxation. Comfortable accommodations and delicious meals catered to every family member's needs. The dedicated staff ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience from arrival to departure. It was truly an unforgettable escape for the whole family.
Was supposed to vacation here last Sep, but due to a medical emergency, I have to give my stay to a colleague and his family. This was a makeup trip and we are not disappointed. I was really amazed by the level of eco friendliness of this resort. There is no aircon, no disposal toiletries, no plastic drinking water, and no paper napkins. And no light pollution either. I call that eco extremism. You can read more on their website. Stay: The villas are based on traditional design and materials that have been used by local for centuries. I think the design is probably based on Sumatra. My friend, who is an architecture historian, focuses on SE Asia and will be able to describe in detail. The upper floor is just the living area with the double bed in the middle of the room. The ground floor is a small bunk bedroom for the kids. You get a peaceful sleep protected by mosquito net. No aircon, just fan, and the sea breeze is strong at night. Occasionally, you can get woken up by the engine sound of the fishing boats passing by or anchoring near the island. Activities: the usual land and sea based activities suitable for both kids and adults. We really enjoy the snorkeling where you can just jump into the water just outside your villa and see all the fishes and coral. Kayaking and sailing can be fun so long as you are fighting strong current and wind unless you're experienced in these sports. Walking around the island on the trail will reward you with the rock formation around the island, especially on low tide. Dont miss the jetty jump. Its really fun for the kids. Kids can toast marshmallow on the bon fire at 7.15pm and catch an anime movie afterwards. There are also paid activities such as diving, zip line and yoga. Food: You get to taste some traditional Indonesian food here. Everyday the dinner is based on food from different region of Indonesia e.g. Aceh, Kalimantan. The food uses local ingredients prepared with the spices and cooking style from each region. The portion in each serving is usually small so you can request for more if you have a big appetite. This way the resort helps to reduce food wastage. There is quite a lot of choices of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage and price are similar to Singapore. Transportation: You get on the ferry at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to Lagoi and the rest is taken care of. Total traveling time about 4 hours starting from TMFT. There is a 70mins land transfer from Lagoi to Trikora Beach. The speedboat journey is about 20mins.
A gem of a resort - barefoot luxury in a Robinson Crusoe dream island… attentive service, and a foundation underpinning it all that gives back to the youth of Bintan island. Top marks
Just leaving an amazing couple of days at Nikoi as a family. We were blown away by the service and willingness of the staff to solve problems. Traveling with a 1.5 year old is challenging and the staff made our trip so doable. Transfers were seamless and the food was outstanding. We were not expecting the variety and freshness while being on a tiny island. Overall, we can’t wait to plan our next trip to Nikoi as a family!
