Room - we booked a queen room but it was upgraded to an apartment with laundry machine and dryer when we arrived. The apartment is spacious and looked just like the pictures which is amazing. It also comes with a fully equipped kitchen with utensils and pots etc

Location - it’s in the city but not close to any tram or train station. Would suit people who are driving as there are plenty of on street parking spaces right outside the hotel. Metered hours are 0730-1830 so parking overnight would not be expensive

Service - the front desk staff are very helpful and friendly.

Cleaning - overall the room was clean when we arrived but please note the next point

Security - after the first housekeeping service, our room was left UNLOCKED and we were absolutely terrified. Fortunately all our belongings were safe. We have thus given up the housekeeping service for the remaining stay. Security is of utmost importance when travelling abroad. If it weren't for this security issue, I would definitely give it a 5 star rating. We communicated this issue to the front desk but when we met the housekeepers the other day, they didn’t seem to be aware of it. For any future customer choosing this hotel, i would advise that you opt out the housekeeping service on your date of arrival.

I love this place! The prices are typically pretty great, and they always are willing to do something extra. My first stay Anna (who is absolutely lovely), upgraded my room. This stay they checked me in 5 hours early!!!! I will continue to stay here for work.

Also, the rooms are high quality, clean and newly renovated!!!

I forgot to mention they are value for money, as in the rooms has a full washer and dryer, sink/small kitchenette area.

The location is great, with parking available and plenty of nearby parking as well. The room is clean and comfortable, with a large balcony. The front desk staff are friendly and polite. I had a very pleasant day—it’s peaceful despite being in a busy area, and also very quiet. There’s also a beautiful outdoor swimming pool. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

My stay at the Melbourne City Hotel was a great experience and without a doubt a hotel that deserves a positive 5 star review! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and efficient.

The room was clean and cozy, the bed was very comfortable and I was able to get a good night's rest after a long day. The bathroom was modern and well appointed with steady hot water and ideal water pressure. The location of the hotel is also very convenient, within walking distance to the main attractions, shopping centers and restaurants in cbd, making it very easy to get around.

I would especially like to commend the front desk and room service team, they always have a smile on their face, patiently answer all kinds of questions and make you feel at home. I will definitely choose this place again for my next visit to Melbourne and will recommend it to friends and family!

Last month we went to Melbourne for vacation with my family. We stayed here for 3 nights. This place was the perfect place to stay. Very nice place, quiet surrounding area, not far from public transportation. Very large room, very comfy bed, excellent facility with all you need I.e. oven, large refrigerator, washer, dryer, dish washer. The staff was nice. The best part was large pool, warm jacuzzi pond. Highly recommended for couple or family.
