7-2 Honmachi, Kurashiki, Okayama 710-0054, Japan
What an incredible hotel! My family and I had such a wonderful stay in this property with a lovely nostalgic ambiance. Our room was spacious and beautiful. In all our travels in Japan, I must say the rooms in Kurashiki Ivy Square had that perfect combination of aesthetics, ambiance, modern conveniences and such a well thought out layout. Location-wise, you couldn’t get any more central within the historic quarter. Everything was just a short walk away. If driving, complimentary parking was conveniently available in a large parking lot just across the street.
This was one of the best looking hotels that we stayed in at our 13 day Japan trip, and it was the most value for money by far. The building was a spinning textile factory that was retired after WW2 and was refurbished into a hotel in the 1970s. The hotel was recently refurbished so everything looks incredibly morden and new. The hotel itself is a tourist location so take your time exploring the grounds when you're here.
The location is perfect, 5 min walk from Bikan historical quarter. The front desk staff was very friendly and eager to help. The atmosphere of the hotel was very high-end and traditional. The room was perfect, only downside is that we had two single beds instead of a queen size. The public bath were very relaxing and spacious.
Beautiful hotel. Modern spacious rooms in a historic building. Massive smart TV. Right next to the historic quarter.
Just less than 2kms from kurashiki station. Stayed there for over 2 weeks. The room was slightly smaller than I expected. It was just enough space for me who's always traveling/working with more than 2 luggages and a backpack. Anyhow, what can I say, the hotel is a legendary heritage building (with over a 100 years of history). But bear in mind, the shower head is quite low for someone who's tall ?. However the toilet was excellent ?.
