We stayed two nights longer and wish to return. We've checked about ten hotels more in Bentota and Aluthgama, and JJ villa is the best! Great value for surprisingly low price. Ask for rooms 1 or 4 first, they are the biggest, with long balcony and two more windows. All rooms have air conditioner, price difference between a/c and non-a/c is 2$. Ask for a small discount if you stay several nights. Rooms are spacious and stylish decorated. Bathroom is clean and new. All is well planned: fan switch is above the bed, charging points are near the bed and table. Bedlinens and towels are fresh. You can use frigde and kitchen downstairs. All staff is very kind and helpful. One more great option: the owner are ready to give guests a free tuk-tuk ride for 1 km. That's enough to reach train or bus station and several supermarkets (but not the beach). Last but not least: parrots near the gate!

The guest house was better than average 3 star hotels. No drinking water in the room. No mini fridge or hot drinks making facilities. There is a hot water shower from solar power, but it may be cold if you have a late night shower, especially during rainy days. It would be better if the cleaning staff wiped dry and shone the surfaces such as the mirror, shelf, etc. AC rooms. Free WiFi provided. There is a small car park for two or three cars. Be careful with Google navigation when there are road works near the hotel especially if coming from the E01 express way, I was not able to get to the hotel due to road closure because of laying water pipes and drainage. I had to get to the hotel from A2 Colombo - Matara Road side. Breakfast is not included. I noticed some stains marks on mattress and pillows as they don't have protective mattres cover and protective pillow covers. This is a common problem in average hotels in Sri Lanka as the mattresses and pillows are not renewed regularly.

Excellent value for the room—spacious, spotless, and peaceful. The staff is exceptionally kind, welcoming, and highly responsive, always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. Their warm hospitality truly enhances the overall experience. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Aluthgama Train Station, making it easy to explore the surrounding areas. A small grocery store is conveniently located right at the entrance, perfect for grabbing water, snacks, or essentials. Additionally, Keells Supermarket is about a 10-minute walk away, offering a wider selection of groceries and household items. With its great value, cleanliness, and convenience, this place is a wonderful choice for travelers. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area!
