I ended up staying one night at Hanoi Traveller Hostel because I missed my bus, and honestly, I wish I had found it earlier! The stay was just amazing. The hostel is super, super clean which was such a relief after some other places I’ve stayed. I booked a 4-bed dorm, and it was spotless, relaxing, and had a fresh, modern interior that made it feel really comfortable. Everything just felt well-maintained and cared for. If you’re looking for a clean, cozy, and well-designed place to stay in Hanoi, I highly recommend this one!
We booked two rooms (for 5 pax) for two nights as we were arriving in Hanoi at 1 a.m. We also availed of their airport pick up service, and despite our flight delay and the long immigration queue, the driver patiently waited for us. That gesture alone was already a great start to our stay. Check-in was smooth, even at that hour. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We actually witnessed their honesty firsthand. During check-in , there was a mix-up with the airport pickup charges (we were initally billed twice, for another group’s ride). But not long after, the receptionist realized the error and personally came up to our room to return the excess payment. Truly appreciate that level of integrity. Our room was spacious enough. They also offer free brekafast. Since we had an early bus to Sapa the next morning (5am) and the hotel buffet wasn’t open yet, they went out of their way to pack our breakfasts as takeaway. If I had one thing that felt a bit unusual, it would be seeing the staff sleeping in the hotel lobby at night. It’s not something I’m used to, but to be fair, it did not affect the service at all.
Overall We had a great stay here, especially because we love being near the nightlife. This hotel was a solid find for us. Room and photos The balcony room looked more spacious in the photos. In reality, the balcony area is quite small, just enough space for two people. Facilities There’s an elevator and wifi. With bottled water and tea or coffee sachets. They changed the towels and sheets daily which we really appreciated. Cleanliness Room was generally clean, but we did spot two cockroaches after leaving out some leftover food. Could be improved a bit in this area. Staff and service Everyone was friendly and helpful during our stay. Check-in was quick. One surprising thing was that we arrived at 3 am and the staff was actually ASLEEP. So if you’re arriving late, make sure they are awake to serve you. Location and nightlife If you’re into nightlife, this is the perfect spot. It’s very close to Beer Street and still alive even at 3 am. Despite that, you don’t really hear the noise from inside the room. Breakfast I liked the omelettes. One morning we had to leave early for a day tour and breakfast wasn’t ready yet, but their sweet staff packed us some banh mis to take with us. Payment You can pay at the hotel but there’s a 2.5 percent fee when using a card, so bring cash if you want to avoid that.
