No. 2000 Yan An Rd West, Shanghai, China, 200051
I stayed at the Golden Tulip for two nights while on a business in January. It is good value for money. Even the room described as executive was very affordable. The room was a little smaller than expected; the ceilings were very low. The place had been remodeled recently and the low ceilings might have been to cover up old fixtures and plumbing. Only giving it 4 stars because of strong smell of mold or cigarettes in my room. If you get a room on the 20th or higher floors, you should have great views of the city; the traffic lights were stunning at night. The mini fridge has a selection of sodas, beer, and wine, but don't touch! You'll be charged a fee. The breakfast buffet (about $20) had very good selection of Chinese and Western items. There's an onsite restaurant, called Palace Tang, but there's plenty of other nearby eateries within walking distance. The hotel staff spoke good English and were helpful with things like ordering a taxi (although some taxi might struggle to get into the parking lot and finding you).
It was a huge suite and well maintained. The staff was courteous. The location is bit off from business venues but not far from MRT and there are many good restaurants (including one indian "Sadu darbar")
