Had a short but pleasant 1-day stay at De Greenish Village, Langkawi. The hotel is conveniently located near major landmarks in Kuah. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was nicely done with a good variety. A peaceful place to relax—great for a quick getaway!

At first they gave me a room with two small beds instead of one large one. The next room had a really  really bad air conditioner, it was too hot to fall asleep. For the first time in my life, there was not a single bottle of water in my hotel room. Small stains on bed linen. But the breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly.

I stayed in a family room, which was spacious and suitable for families. The rate is comparatively cheaper here. The hotel offers a nice view and a large swimming pool. The room was neat and clean, and the front office staff were friendly and helpful.

However, the location is quite far from Kuah city, with no nearby eateries or shopping centers. The bathroom was in poor condition, and the hotel itself feels quite old. The complimentary breakfast was disappointing, with damaged fruits served regularly

My family and I went on a 3-day, 2-night vacation to Langkawi. We stayed at a hotel, booking 3 rooms. The condition of the rooms was very old. The carpet always felt dusty whenever we stepped on it. The TV table, mirror table, and wardrobe were covered in thick dust, as if they had never been wiped. The room had a smell, likely due to the old carpet and wooden furniture. Because of this condition, some of us started to have itchy noses, colds, and coughs. A few of us also had fever and sore throats. In addition to the dust, the Cuckoo water dispenser outside the corridor may have contributed to the sore throats. We can assume that if the rooms weren’t properly maintained, the Cuckoo machines on each floor were also likely not serviced.

Regarding the room condition, two of our rooms had old air conditioners that took almost an hour to cool down, even though we set them to 16 degrees Celsius. Considering Langkawi's hot weather, this hotel is truly unsuitable, making it more exhausting and uncomfortable to rest after a long day of walking. The bathroom also lacked the features of a decent hotel. First, they didn't provide toiletries like toothbrushes or shampoo. They only provided a body soap dispenser attached to the bathroom wall. The floor had some marble and some cement, and it looked like the bathtub had been removed, leaving the bathroom in a state that was quite unappealing. The water drainage cover in the toilet was broken and bent, posing a real danger to guests. The sink area was very dirty, with mold and sticky residue. The toilet door looked rotten and was patched with wooden boards at the bottom. Additionally, the amenities in the rooms were inconsistent. Some rooms had broken refrigerators, while others didn’t have a hair dryer, kettle, or clothes hangers.

On our first night, three of us got stuck in the elevator, proving that this hotel is extremely outdated. In conclusion, this is not a good place to stay and relax while in Langkawi. After enduring all the shortcomings of the hotel room, we checked out of the three rooms at 8:00 AM. On our way back home, I received a call from the hotel at 1:15 PM. I called back and spoke to the receptionist, who said I had not checked out of one of the rooms. I explained that we had already handed the key cards to the receptionist at 8:00 AM, and asked her to look for the key card, which might have been mixed up with the other two key cards we had. She insisted that we hadn't gone to the counter to check out and that she hadn’t received the key card. Her tone was rude, and she ended the call angrily.

I was extremely disappointed. Despite all the issues with the room, such as the insufficient soap, missing amenities, we didn’t complain because we thought it was okay to borrow from the other rooms, given that we had booked 3 rooms. I had already handed the cards to the receptionist, who had confirmed by saying, "OK, that's all." What was even more frustrating was that it was the same Indian receptionist who answered the call, and I wondered if she had forgotten about the earlier interaction. We didn’t get angry about the poor service because we took it as a small issue and didn’t want to spoil our vacation mood. However, it’s unacceptable that due to the staff’s negligence, we were the ones being scolded. We came from far away and spent a lot of money, and for them to accuse us of not checking out is highly inappropriate. We followed the rules and expected better service. We hope that future guests do not have to experience what we went through.

If you are thinking of booking this place then just don’t go somewhere else.
This place is old and very dated. The staff are nice and friendly enough but that’s where the good parts of this hotel ends. We booked this place because of the good reviews & I should have taken note of the bad reviews
They have only 2 sun beds and both are broken and need to be replaced
Breakfast was a delight. Looked like it was going to be ok for an Asian breakfast until we noticed little flies on all the salad and the fruit. The staff then brought new fruit out and put it on the same plate with all the flies. Not fit for human consumption
The room was carpeted with a brown filthy dirty carpet. We had a tiny safe box that needed fixing twice. The bed was like a brick and disturbed sleep every night due to it being so hard. There was no lock on the tiny balcony door. It got fixed with the flimsiest repair I have seen. You could have just pushed the door and it would have opened. So security is not a priority there

There are a number of nice hotels in this area. I would recommend paying a tiny bit more and getting a lot better value
