I've had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Bumi Surabaya every time I visit this vibrant city! This rustic 5-star hotel offers spacious and clean rooms that exude a warm, welcoming ambiance. While some might find the decor a tad old-fashioned, I personally love the classic charm it brings. The staff are always friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a tranquil retreat in the heart of Surabaya, Hotel Bumi is an excellent choice. I highly recommend it! However several improvements are required to bring this hotel to a better level . For one , they need to add hand towels which is missing in the room! Room only has one big towel and that is it. This time, I found my door cannot lock and that means that if I leave the room, any one can open to go in. I only discovered it on my second day. I went to the reception to have my room changed to another one. No question asked and I suspect they knew about it… For the price I am paying , I am happy to continue to stay here but just need to be careful of this point .
The staffs are very polite and the service is satisfying. This hotel offers exotic Indonesian heritage culture. The rooms are also very spacious and comfortable. The location is strategic in the city center. Staying here was a very pleasant experience for us.
This hotel is rated as 5 stars, though it is lacking in some areas to maintain this rating. Got it when it was still called the Hyatt Regency many years ago. However, the building and rooms are still well maintained, facilities in the room working fine, breakfast is fine for a 4 star... Pros: - clean well maintained room. - bathtub standard in each room - nice pool and functional gym, sauna, and jacuzzi - lush property with many gardens - bali vibe via ambiance music - comfy bed and pillows. one of my best sleep there. - completely dark curtains. - middle of city center. Great for business travelers. Cons: - no smart tv (only has local channels, some foreign channels) - breakfast not reflecting of five star hotel both in options and quality / taste. All in all great value for money.
Sure there are signs of wear and tear in the room due to its age, but the facilities are well maintained with warm service all through out. Very good establishment!
