We chose to visit in the weekend, expecting a larger crowd and more street performances. Found out that life begins here only after lunch. If you want to enjoy the huge number of shops here more leisurely, morning is good. The street performance in the afternoon here is diversified and quite lively. So are the shops and cafes. Good way to spend some time feeling a facade of Taiwan life and to mingle with the locals. Beware of aggressive promoters though.

Great place to go on the weekend to see street performers, musicians and sometimes new movie exhibits and other vendors. You are also in the center of the Taipei Xinyi shopping district with Mitsukoshi buildings full of luxury brands and fancy food courts. This is the place to hang out on the weekend or during the holiday shopping season. It's near Taipei 101 as well so if you are done here, you can just walk over to the Taipei 101 area for more shopping!

The Plaza is a mixture of different Shopping complexes with street stores and food restaurants. It is situated within walking distance from Taipei 101 and Taipei City Hall MRT station. The plaza is home to street performances on the weekends and is famous for weekend shopping. The price can be a little high as compared to other places.

This is such a fun place during the holidays. Usually is decorated with the huge Christmas tree, and there's always a lot of photo ops. Street performers from singing to acrobatic show off their skills here. And brands set up their pop up stands there for marketing and market research. There's always lots to see and lots to do here, especially during the holiday.

There are so many shopping and food options. Very lively.
