Milton was an excellent tour guide, despite the cool weather he kept us entertained throughout the 2.5 hours of the tour giving a history as well as his insights on the city of Christchurch & how it came to be. A really enjoyable way to explore so much of the city, especially as we only had one full day there. Highly recommended to all who visit!

I did the 2.5 hour walking tour with John Hoskini, who proofed to be a wonderfully insightful guide, who added a personal touch to the history and insights that he shared about his city. He also showed us some places that I would not have gone to alone / that werde not recommended in my quite extensive guidebook. Along the way we also stumbled upon some people who would on the spot delightedly share some of their own wisdom and stories (e.g. one of the priests at St. Michael and all Angles). John always made sure there was the time for us to enjoy these encounters, enriching the tour. Also, everybody seemed to know him from his various engagements and activities, which conveyed both, a feeling of him being very well connected to the whole community of Christchurch as well as Christchurch’s population being a small and close-knit community, which was quite nice and gave the tour quite an intimate insider feeling. This was added by the fact that there were just three of us on the tour. The only downsides were that it took me (as a non-native speaker) a while to get used to his accent and he spoke quite muted, so that at times he was a bit hard to understand. All in all: absolutely worth the time and money. Strong recommendation.

My walking tour was led by Graeme. He was deeply informed historically, geographically, and sociologically. I can’t remember any guide doing a better job. Christchurch is a city arisen from catastrophe and i can’t think of a better way to understand its past and glimpse its hopeful future than this city highlights tour.

Our volunteer guide Brian was knowledgeable and friendly and provided a good background to the city of Christchurch as we walked. The weather was poor and intermittently raining and windy at times but Brian persisted with us and completed the tour so kudos to his commitment! Would recommend the tour. The 2-2.5 hour tour covers most common tourist sites and lesser known sites of the city. The $25 paid contributes towards the Arts Centre funds for ongoing restoration work which is great for us to be contributing to this cause.

Our volunteer guide was Rae who was absolutely fabulous. Her local knowledge was amazing, especially of the earthquake. I learned so much about the city's history & the recovery of Christchurch. I loved that the groups are small, making for an efficient & informative tour. Everyone on our tour was so friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed Walk Christchurch with Rae. Great value at $25pp
