We struggled to find the right house as there is no sign, but actually Google map is correct. If the owner is busy, you just go inside and walk around until he is free. We had a nice chat with him, and knowing about the history of the house, the village and the family is interesting. We haven't seen such Malay houses anywhere else, so totally recommend it. We left a small donation at the end.

Kampung Morten is a village of traditional Malay houses in Melaka. One of these houses is Villa Sentosa, which has been converted into a museum and is open to the public. However it is maintained independently by a family, so please do check in with them if you are going in too early to after five in the evening. The family are really sweet and one kindly old man of the family gave us a tour even though we arrived after five in the evening. There are ticket charges, but would definitely recommend leaving donations as it is out of the UNESCO buffer zone so they receive no funding for maintenance of this.

We felt at home. The owner was so kind and welcomed us so warmly. He was very good with children too. He took us around the house and explained everything. The visit is free but accepts donations which we left with great pleasure. Highly recommended.

A very nostalgic home located in the middle of Kampung Morten. Limited parking space. Not required fee to enter this house. Ooen from 11:00am - 5:30pm. May walk or went there via cruise as well. Located near kg. Morten bridge. Upon our arrival, we warmly welcomed by the house owner, Mr. Ibrahim. During house tour, he explained about his family lineage from his great2 grandfather until his generation which originally came from Sungai Puah, West Sumatera, Indonesia. He brought us for the house tour. He explained us the history of the house, the function of each area of the house including the origin of Kg. Morten name. Interesting visit. At here, we still able to see antique collection like records, traditional games like congkak, antique dishware and many more. Being here made me felt like back to village since the house design, the aura of home and Mr. Ibrahim himself same age as my late grandfather. Wish Mr. Ibrahim stay healthy and the house will be preserved for youngster and future generations.

It may be a little bit biased here because I'm the family member who owned the villa. Generally the villa is the main house (Rumah Ibu) while surrounded with another 3 houses (Rumah Anak2) and all the houses are within a large corner of the village which have the best view. The villa is currently a museum, listed under Malacca tourism and closely monitored & maintained by generation.
