Loved my time at this museum! Took us 1.5 hours to explore. Kimono rental is 1000yen for 30minutes. The life sized recreation of Edo period houses are great for photos in your kimono. Lots of friendly staff around who will proactively offer to take photos of you. All the houses are created with the utmost attention to detail (you can go inside them). And there's a QR code to learn more about each house in detail and how people lived their lives back then. Can also pay for an audio guide. The museum also simulates day and night time lighting as well as rain/weather events. Best part is that the museum is not crowded at all!
Must visit place. staff are very nice and helpful. My aunt left her hat in the Museum and it was kept very well at the lost&found. Apart from that it’s really nice to have experience dressed in traditional Kimono and walked in the museum.
Great experience. We rent Kimono for ¥1,000/person (2 adult+1 Kid). We get to experience life size simulation of Edo Period. Then we’re able to see one-floor museum of miniature of Housing evolution of Osaka.
Museum highlighting the changes in housing and living within Osaka. You can also rent traditional kimono for all of your family members for just 1000 yen each person for 30 minutes. Inside, you can play games by searching for animal statues. Some times, there will be special performances such as street vendors. Quite dun for children too.
