Quanyuan Rd, Beitou District, Taipei City, Taiwan 112
This place is a great spot to dip your feet in the warm spring pools while enjoying the volcanic scenery. The area has a strong sulfur smell from the natural sulfur vents, but it’s a memorable experience. It’s easy to reach and not a large area, so you don’t need to walk much to see both the hot spring and the valley.
Sulfur Valley, located in the scenic Yangmingshan area, is a stunning geothermal hotspot known for its sulfuric steam rising from the ground and its relaxing hot springs. Surrounded by lush greenery, this natural wonder offers a unique experience for visitors to witness the geothermal activity up close and enjoy the serene environment. It’s an excellent destination for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility away from the city's hustle and bustle. Recommendations for Visiting- Sulfur Valley is strongly recommended for anyone visiting Taipei. While it’s near the city, it is not directly accessible via MRT. Here are three ways to reach the site: 1. Drive or Use Ride-Hailing Services (e.g., Uber): The most convenient option, allowing flexibility in timing and stops. 2. Hire a Private Driver for 6 Hours: Ideal for groups or those planning to explore multiple spots in Yangmingshan. 3. Take the MRT to Beitou Station and Transfer to a Public Bus: A more budget-friendly option, though less direct and time-consuming. Choose the method that best suits your schedule and preferences for a memorable visit to this natural gem.
Nice and chilly during early March Good place to have a chill stroll and rest at the public sulfur foot spa.. bring a pair of slipper for convenience and a small towel
I went here during my 'exploration' in Beitou. I saw the sulfur valley from above near the bus station. It was nice but I didn't want to go down there because it was summer and not a good time to dip my feet in hot water. I also saw the path to go down there and back up, no ?
Unique place, good hike from XinBeitou town (around 40 min) or you can take mini bus from XinBeitou park. Walking park around this area. Bring umbrella /sun glasses/ sun hat.
